They are trying like hell to get him through this season. I'd bet the minute they lose a game or the season is over, stuff is gonna come out of the wood work. Terrell Pryor ain't got chit on this dude. I'd bet money he will do permanent damage to the Noles before it's over.

The ref got slightly pushed and the ref did a Vlade Divac imitation.

I mean...there's a reason no NFL fans want him on their team.

This guys is a full blow train wreck. The longer they enable him by letting him get away with all the things he has done the worse off he will be as a person. When I think of him, I think of how Maurice Clarrett was at Ohio State. The only difference is that Ohio State cut its losses.

In fairness to Winston the ref was in the wrong place. What the heck was the ref trying to do anyway?

What is up with UTSA's 91? That guy was hot head, I don't think I have witnessed a more intentional shove to a ref in college fball game before..Is he a senior? If so I guess that was his last game and he wanted to go out in style...

His job?

An official is instructed to stand over the ball to prevent the offense from snapping it until the defense has sufficient time to match the offense's substitutions.

We were actually penalized at GT a few years back for snapping it too early.

But you missed the point of what he was saying. The ref was not standing over the ball. He was standing between the QB and the Center. I question that too.

And I'll be damned if we didn't score a touchdown and they called it back. They would never have thrown the flag against Tech (if they had been the team snapping "early").

There was an explanation I read somewhere that it had something to do with an extra ref or something. The thing is, out of position or not, the ref was attempting to do his job and Jameis just pushed him out of his way.

Fair or not, his past shenanigans have put this under the microscope.

That's the refs job. He didn't have time to get in position because the center got there before him.

RE: OT: Crablegs winston pushes a zebra
One thing I didn't know at first was that in bigger games they now have an 8 man crew instead of the normal 7. If it was a normal 7, the umpire would be standing over the ball from the D side of things holding it up but w/ the 8 man crews that duty is now done by the ref in the backfield hence why he was "in the way". I can understand JW in the heat of the moment saying "get out of my way" to the ref as it's not something normally encountered but still should've been a flag based on the current rule. I'd imagine that this will be an issue discussed in the offseason to ready players & the refs will learn how to handle this situation better w/ maybe sending the ref back from the D side as normal again.

I thought all games had 8 men

I was listening to one of the sports shows late Sun night & it mentioned about the 7 & 8 men crews on premium games when it was talking about the incident. Below is a link about the crews & duties but the ref in question had a C w/ a number on his back so he was something additional. Not sure if it is just ACC or NCAA as a whole that has this 8 man crew thing. It was the first I'd heard of it myself
