Here is an idea for a great 30 second commercial:



A couple watching the Iron Bowl in their den. The husband is wearing an Alabama baseball cap and the wife is wearing an Auburn baseball cap. Alabama wins and the husband who is the Alabama fan looks less than excited. His wife who is the Auburn fan asks him why he doesn't appear more excited about Alabama's big win in the Iron Bowl. The husband hangs his head and shakes it disapprovingly. "It is hard to explain." he said. "Go ahead and try." the wife responds. Then the husband explains. "Well you know I grew up an Alabama fan my whole life, but when it came time to go to school, my parents couldn't afford to send me to Tuscaloosa. I was upset at first but then I started attending UAB and going to basketball games. I really enjoyed my time at UAB and the opportunity to continue my education at UAB allowed be to be the man I am today." The wife listens intently as he goes on. "This thing with the board of trustees trying to stop UAB football just bothers me to the point that I can't even get excited about an Iron Bowl win." He drops his head and shakes it in sad disgust. The wife puts her hand on his shoulder and hangs her head in sympathy. fade to black. and the words #freeUAB appear on the screen.

Ehh.

My idea for a five second commercial:

Grammar-Nazi riding a wrecking ball nude into the Bear Bryant statue at Legion Field, set to Miley Cyrus.

I would do that.

I had an idea once. It was a mat with different conclusions written on them that you could jump to.

so the husband didn't even want to go to UAB?

your commercial idea is pretty terrible.

The message of that commercial is:

UAB - where you send your kids when you can't afford to send them where you want them to go.
