They are CURRENTLY top 4. Currently...in English that means as of today. Now. Not next week. Now. This isn't the "if" game.

The committee ranks teams based upon their CURRENT position, not how they anticipate the season breaking. Therefore, the committee seems CURRENTLY (as of NOW, that is) to be OK what Moo State did OOC wise.

They PLAY in the TOUGHEST conference in the country right NOW. Even though some of the teams are NOT ranked RIGHT now, they are still good teams. The UNRANKED teams in the $EC are also better than other unranked TEAMS in other conferences. MSU has ONE loss only. Alabama has ONE loss only. They have played TOUGHER opponents.

Break it down between top 4/5 and bottom 5 and it becomes very easy to see the difference. MSU is 4-1 against that group with the only loss being to #2 by 5 points on the road. Baylor is 2-1 against that group with the only loss being at receiving votes WVU.

Baylor (2 ranked teams, 1 other receiving votes)
Bottom 5 - SMU, Northwestern State, Buffalo, Iowa State, Kansas
Top 5 - TCU, Oklahoma, WVU, Oklahoma State, Texas

MSU (2 ranked teams, 3 others receiving votes)
Bottom 5 - USM, UAB, South Alabama, UT Martin, Vandy
Top 5 - Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M

Typical SEC bootlicker.

You're so anti Memphis that you have become a Marshall bootlicker. No shock there.

That wouldn't have been our fault and if other schools held that against us, the response (rightfully so) would have been "we beat the teams on our schedule."

Two years from now (when Paxton is a senior) Memphis currently has Bowling Green and Kansas on the OOC schedule. I am sure that a FCS school will be added. If Memphis adds another regional foe (ASU, MTSU, UAB etc...) and then runs the table, will out tune change? I mean, Kansas might be a P5 team in name, but are 12-47 in the past five years.

It might not be enough, but the AAC is still quite a bit stronger than CUSA. Marshall plays a horrible OOC and CUSA is horrible. Pretty easy to understand the difference.

CUSA is 3-1 vs. the American this year.

I will note that you think CUSA is a stronger conference than the AAC and add it to your argument. You should sticky this so people realize who they are debating with.

All I noted was that CUSA is 3-1 this year vs. the American.

YOU draw whatever conclusions you want. And I'm sure you will.

Now scurry off back to whatever SEC board you're half chubbin on.

You just admitted that what you posted was irrelevant. That's a step in the right direction.

Yes it will, but this I the first year of playoffs and a committee. This same committee has stressed SOS. If they back up their claim, then teams won't be dropping out. If they don't, then yes nothing will change. If Marshall gets in it sets a bad precedent. Play no one and win and get rewarded. Like you said, time will tell.

Moo State's OOC schedule is an epic fail. They are still in the top 4. So, as long as the conference is perceived good, you can take a flyer on OOC?

No, that's why them and Baylor are in trouble. Granted, in conference for both teams is stronger then most.

In trouble, they are in the top 4 right now.

Watch out for Ohio State.

If the goal is to get "the four best teams" tOSU has looked really impressive lately.

Losing that game against a crummy VPI team really hurts. BUT, the fact that they were pressing a frosh into emergency duty because their Heisman candidate went out for the season 17 days earlier is impressive.
