I hope to Miami-OU rivalry never sinks to that level. There were some rough times in the 80's though.

Sure it's not a 'big' deal. But call me old school or a softie or whatnot, I like the traditional show of sportsmanship before and after the game. Sets a good example to the younger kids watching who'll grow up to play that same game one day. Not every second of a sporting event has to be bad-arse testosterone and macho posturing.

Not classy. Much the same as a HC after the game not even having a quick handshake with the other coach, and instead putting forth effort Not to. It's an unsportsmanlike slap in the face.

No, it's not a "slap in the face". A slap in the face is a slap in the face.

So some people don't want to shake hands, that's MUCH better than a slap in the face. It's not violent or antagonistic. It's the opposite. Let them be.

What is with you Torch? You seem to be okay with poor sportsmanship.
Do you honestly think that this sets a good example for how people should act?
ie. the kids that are watching the game and idealizing the players.

LOL. It's a refusal to shake hands -- and CMU's getting pointed out for it: https://twitter.com/HustleBelt/status/53...57474?s=07

REFUSING to shake hands when it's done -- when virtually ALL people DO do it -- but they were being d!cks and unsportsmanlike, it IS antagonistic -- definitely not the opposite. It's unsportsmanlike conduct, a "slap in the face". "So? Some people like doing that -- let them be, right?" :)

RE: Stay classy CMU!
I did mention that I like to see the shaking hands displayed after the coin toss and after the game. For the reasons I mentioned. Evidently there isn't enough douchey behavior to encounter in our daily lives, so I guess it must spill into pre and post game sporting events too.

However... I'm not sure reprimands and/or fines should be handed down. I don't think people should be "forced" to exhibit niceties. Kind of defeats the purpose. It should happen organically, out of common sense and respect for the game.

Let's see, Steinbrecher reprimands Davis, Cherocci, Phillips and Walton. Heeke apologizes to WMU. Enos removes the four as captains. CMU gets a black eye nationally.

I think everyone gets this. Well...almost everyone.

Another school did the same thing this year. Does anybody remember the team? It escapes me at the moment but it was a TV game.
