Had to double-check to make sure I wasn't in the basketball subforum.

Rickert pusses out, sees McKee coming in for the hit and turns his back at the last minute. He's a right handed defensemen on the right side skating in trying to hold the blue line, he catches the puck, he dumps the puck in and THEN turns to his right exposeing his back to Mckee vs taking the hit on his left sholder
I thought Mckee was in control, he did not charge him, he stoped his feet from moving and contrary to the announcers comment, he didn't leave his feet.
Bad call and even worse hommer announcing

Get used to it! The bad calls on the road....and the homer announcing! Won't stop until you consistently kick the sh*t out of EVERY team in their barn. Right now we don't seem able to kick anyone's as*

Makes me wonder where the team would be if we had beaten UofM in the 2013 2nd Round.

and not to beat dead horse (I know, I am), these types of calls are a pet peeves of mine.
First off, I get the safety thing and players shouldn't deliberately hit guys from behind and when they do, if justified, they should get a five with game. But in these cases, they should look at the video before handing out a 5 min major and game mis-conduct. Arn't they looking at video for head contact now before handing out majors and games?
Secondly, how many times do we see a player turn away from a hit like this, putting themselves into a dangerous situation? why can't these players also be penalized? They will call guys for embellishing, why not give these guys a harsh penalty for creating the dangerous situation? How about a 2 for boarding and 5 minute major with a game for dangerous a embellishment?

You seem to see that turn away and get the boarding called more in college. Why do you think?
