I tend to agree.... though as much as I like Memphis, I am not certain they can win the Sugar bowl against the #3 SEC team.

Memphis got a good draw in conference scheduling...but..they seem pretty good. I hope they get the spot and win if they are champs.

Looks like it, though it would depend on how far Marshall drops with the WKU loss, and where the committee sees a 2 loss NIU if they win the MAC. I guess its possible a 3 loss Utah State would be in there as well, but they also have the distinction of being the only over .500 G5 team to lose to an SBC school this year (Arkansas State) which probably knocks them out.

I've seen nothing about the Sugar Bowl. Everything I've seen is if Memphis gets the access spot they would send us to the Peach.

Sorry, I am up way too late. Yes, its the Peach but most projections Ive seen is that they would face an SEC team.

I was thinking Sugar cause thats their tie in. I think Bama gets the playoff spot, Miss St goes to the Sugar and Georgia gets the Peach.

Just not certain Memphis knocks off Georgia. Would love to see it and it would be huge for the AAC but I dont like that matchup.

Maybe the fact the SEC rep gets paid more than the G5 rep will be enough motivation!

Atlanta under the dome for a $2.95m payday after 6 dry bowl years is almost good enough for me. Almost!

It will be the Peach and that will favor the AAC rep.

Huge game tonight between USU and Boise.

If USU wins it means that the best the MWC champion can offer will be a 3 loss USU team. The AAC unless they slip could counter with Three choices at 3 loses Memphis,Cincinnati and UCF

NIU is definitely in the discussion. They have beaten two 8 and 4 teams and a 7 and 5, albeit all G5 teams. In the P5 realm, the have beaten 5 and 6 Northwestern, who have impressive wins themselves (Wisconsin and ND) while losing to a pretty good, bowl-bound, SEC Arkansas team.

Your right, I should include northern Illinois as a contender. They'd beat marshan or anything the sun belt has

Ok now what needs to happen for AAC to get access.

USU defeating boise and what else if anything.

And who among Memphis, UC, and UCF would go, assuming all finished 9-3. Right now I assume Memphis but who knows.

Someone mentioned last week that Memphis is the only G5 team that had a legit chance to beat a highly ranked P5 team very late in the game. This is a different animal than the regular polls we are used to seeing.

if that much thought is going into this, then this is a whole different animal indeed. Memphis lost to UCLA and ole miss correct? Ole miss blew out Boise....ucla bombed yesterday but ole miss beat beat Mississippi St today so if what your saying is correct then a Boise loss would huge for you guys

I guess this thread is irrelevant anyway as Boise is up on Utah st 34-9 early....only hope is that Boise somehow loses at home in the MWC championship game to a team they have already beaten. (Either Nevada or San Diego st or Fresno)

eSpin is saying it's going to be Fresno vs Boise in MWC champ game. If Fresno wins, then Boise, CSU and Air Force are disqualified from access bowl consideration correct? You have to win your CCG to make access bowl correct?

Correct. This is what we have been told. It's the top G5 champion. If Fresno beats Boise, then Memphis likely goes.

It's highly unlikely that this would actually happen though. I guess stranger things have happened before, though.

If Boise loses (highly unlikely) then the race comes down to Memphis, Marshall (yes, it brings them back in the discussion if they win their conference,) and NIU , if they win their conference.
