Women Win Second, Sign Three
Congratulations to our Tribe women hoopsters who raised their record to 2-1 last night at NC A&T, a decent team...a very good road win for the ladies.
Coach Swenson has these players scrapping.

He also announced the signing of three prospects as he and his staff usher in a completely new women's basketball era at W&M (see below):

I really like how he's recruiting both in the DC metro area and also via the AAU circuit. Notice that all three players played for the same AAU team in 2013 and Jones moved up to play with Team Takeover (one of the best clubs in the US). Interestingly Malinowski played for the same group (boys version).

Coach Swanson. Say Swenson too many times and you're likely to cause convulsions here.

Strong 2nd half gives W&M a 10 point win over Radford (81-71). Women improve to 5-2.

More than anything, this year's team can shoot better than any women's BB team I can remember. Maybe it's coaching, recruiting, or something else, but at least we are finally competitive.

RE: Women Win Second, Sign Three
This year's freshman class is the first he's recruited so I don't think it's recruiting (yet). I think it is execution of a solid offense and pressure defense.

Nope. He maybe signed one late, but they were all Debbie's recruits. Remember that he was brought in after a firing and the signing day was prior to that.

RE: Women Win Second, Sign Three
Coach Ed has an up tempo style, took the Ladies a while to get used to it, but nobody will beat the Tribe women because they were in better condition.

Coach also had a lot of success at Sacred Heart and it is a reasonable wager at this point to lay money the women may get an NCAA bid before the Men do...though it would be awesome if they both earned one in the same season...like this one!

Now the big question, I have actually been to 2 Ladies games this year, how many have you guys been too?

RE: Women Win Second, Sign Three
Saw the game played right before the men's game with Wofford.

They are very aggressive, put pressure on defensively almost 100% of the time, and have several talented players, including two freshman guards in Coach Swanson's first recruiting class. Play as a team.

When Swanson gets three or four recruiting classes in this program is going to be one of the best at the College.
