Huskies @ #25 Hawkeyes predictions
Ok I know people hate prediction threads based on the Vandals post but this is not two obscure teams this time. Iowa should project as 17-20 point favorites at home. I think the Huskies cover this mainly due to Iowa's rigorous schedule of the past week and leading into this game. A bit of a let down might be inevitable for them. Obviously Iowa's size is going to wreak havoc and probably provide wide open perimeter shots all day for Iowa. Aaron White probably scores in the mid 20s I fear. Final score:

NIU 64
Iowa 79

I think we have a good shot since they play 3 games in a short amount of time before us.

The Hawkeyes will be just fine, they play 10-12 guys. The Huskies should be playing a game this Sunday. They need game experience not rest.

Huskies just aren't ready..hope I am wrong. Iowa lost to both Cuse and Tx but were right there. Can't see Huskies keeping it closer than 15. I hope I'm wrong..hate the F eyes.

There is no doubt it could get ugly real fast. It wouldn't surprise me if NIU lost by 10 or lost by 40.

NIU shoots 49% and Iowa 42% from the field. If we can have that stat hold I feel we can win.

Way too early to be looking at the RPI.

Iowa is overrated. They're slow and can't shoot. They are long though. This game could be surprisingly close.

Iowa's biggest advantage will be size as NIU is just as deep as Iowa. The thing I worry about is NIU defensively is really going to have to collapse inside. Iowa shooters will have wide open looks all night from the perimeter. If they hit those at a reasonable, average percentage, they should win by 20. If they have an off night from the perimeter, that is NIU's only shot. I just hope it is not one of those 90-30 type games like @ Purdue a few years ago, that is totally demoralizing. All I want to see is an NIU team fight and keep relatively competitive (< 20 point differential)

Uh, yes they can. They're shooting 37% as a team from 3 and shoot 74% as a team from the FT line. They can shoot.

RE: Huskies @ #25 Hawkeyes predictions
Well in their last two games against Texas and Syracuse they've shot 28.6% from 3 and 70% from the line. Maybe it's too early to say but those stats indicate they struggle shooting from the arc against good defenses. I haven't seen the Huskies play this year but if they're anything like last year they'll present a challenge on the perimeter more like Texas and Cuse than Hampton and NDSU.

RE: Huskies @ #25 Hawkeyes predictions
The Huskies are shooting 495%fg, 303%3pt, 754%ft and averaging 82pts a game. They are giving up 61.5pts a game. They gave up 62.9pts a game last year. Idaho would finish in the top half of the MAC. I expect NIU will have a harder time scoring against IOWA. I also am pretty sure IOWA can score more than 61.5pts. I do know that the Huskies plan on winning and not just hoping for a moral victory. I feel that everyone on IOWA'S team can shoot. That is their no.1 strength.

Two games is a really small sample size and Syracuse and Texas are elite defensive teams with their combination of athletic ability and size. NIU isn't at their level defensively and can't challenge Iowa with their length like Cuse and Texas could.

RE: Huskies @ #25 Hawkeyes predictions
After two straight losses, Iowa will not be ranked. They looked great in the 1st half against Texas but then has three straight poorly played quarters.

Huskies are catching the Hawkeyes at a bad time. They are going to play pissed off and the losses will probably cause them to refocus.

Hawkeyes take this one 80-64.
