Broncos taking on former CCHA rival Miami in Hawk-ey. They will be fired up for some payback with what we did to them last year. Redhawks are playing well but I suspect they don't really like to play our style of hockey.

Sic 'em, boys!! 05-mafia

Bad call. Lemirande cross checks Fleming from behind who the bumps into Czarnik, who falls and Fleming gets called for the cross check.

All this right in front of the ref

Do our incoming recruits have any offensive jump, because it's starting to look obvious that we don't have any this year.

I think so. Tiffels has shown some real offensive flashes. Early on Muir has also, though I think he may not be 100%.

Picked up a bench minor with 5 seconds left over an offside call.

RE: An Oxford Friday Night Game thread
Very good game to watch, just didn't like the out come.

SCSU downs ND 3-1

UMD defeats UNO 3-2 (UNO lead 2-0 with 10 minutes remaining in the 3rd)

CC beats WI 4-1

DU drops Air Force 5-0

I know record wise some may be a little down on WMU. But with in our conference we are right there. And we have not even played our best hockey yet.

Very doubtful pair wise we can crack the top 12, but home ice for the playoffs is still very realistic and we have as good of shot as any of the teams to make it back to Minneapolis for the Frozen Four.

I really like this team, just not their win/loss record.

Agree, I wasn't frustrated with the play as much as the fact we have a loss and our record doesn't look so great.

Tomorrow.

This group will gel, and the scoring and W's will follow. I'm sure.

Nolan's out tomorrow, right?

IDK, scoresheet has him with a 10 min. misconduct towards the end of the game. Prolly on too many F-bombs or something about the refs mother.......JK

If it's a game misconduct I think he still plays. It's a match DQ that gives the suspension

RE: An Oxford Friday Night Game thread
Hope you are right BroncoNut.....but still see the same old problems...and quite honestly I think they start in our own zone. 1) we collapse back too far and then all start running around. Our wingers do hold their position but the puck never comes 2) we have no distinct break out patterns 3) defense holds the puck too long instead of moving it up and then falls to the opponents forecheck...this really happened last night. 4) same old dump and chase...saw at least four occasions where Morrison could have carried it well into the offensive zone but dumped it in.

I think we do have potential offense....but for the above! This is COACHING let downs in my opinion. Now you can all yell at me! The constant changing of lines so none learn together. The defense first attitude. A system not designed to use the offensive skill players we have. Spreading our skill players around the lines. Hey...how about taking some chances....put together a pure skill scoring line...say Tiffels/Kovacs/Muir...then leave them together for a few games to gel...not 10 minutes! If you are worried with all this skill in one package, then always put the top defense out with them.

Finally....stop rolling 4 line so much. Did you see how much time on ice Miami gave their better players? They played a short bench thru out the game. Your best players get BETTER as the game goes on if they get more and more ice time!

I am not a coach. I have to believe Murray knows all this but for some reason just can't figure it out. I think for the first time he is confused and needs to change himself as well as the team. I believe he can! I don't know why he doesn't!
