Disagree. We have a solid core to build on. Growing pains for sure but I've witnessed much worse from Marshall than what we have here. I think we can easily finish in the middle of CUSA which is a big improvement from last year.

If MU can clean up some slop play and take care of the ball the scoring can match and its a solid core of talent. However, if the turnovers continue then it will be a mess.

This game is hard to judge due to the type of defesne that Pitino always plays and forcing turnovers is common. Where we shouldn't have turnovers is vs teams like WV Tech where we had a size and talent advantage. The good thing is the issues we have can be corrected.

What can't is no solid ball handling...No PG. That worries more than anything. That obviously plays into the turnovers but having that spot filled by a solid ball handler will open up the offense so much more and cut down on sloppy turnovers by players who shouldn't be trying to dribble the length of the court.

I agree, we need a guy who can handle the ball....right we have no one that seems confident when the ball is in their hands with a little pressure on them

I don't see it. We have bad players. This is a hodge podge team.

Kambola shouldnt have a scholarship.

Ryan Taylor can be good but man he is making poor decisions and taking bad shots tonight.

Smith got hot frm 3 and can shoot.

I like the way nikolic plays. Looks like he is going to be a good passer for us as time goes on.

We have to get better at the foul line. Hard to ever win shooting 47%.

All in all, good showing for the Herd. This team will get better by years end, but we do lack talent. That is very obvious. But i think DD will take care of that the next couple years. We probably will start a couple true freshman next season i bet. And need to if we are going to chase 20 wins.

Wasn't a bad game. Just turnovers and free throws. Still held Louisville to 38.6% shooting and 3-22 from the 3, pretty nice.

I think that was a good showing for us. I'm impressed that the team never gave up. Last years team would have given up when down by 24 halfway through the 2nd half but they showed some fight and battled back to within 12.

The team is definitely missing a pg. Dantoni is a much better coach than Herrion and I think if Canty had stuck around Marshall would be a middle of the pack+ team in cusa.

If we had either Brantley or Canty we would be half way dangerous. I really like what Ive seen from Taylor, Edmunds, both Serbs Mijovic and Nikolic, Sane, Smith and Loop.

Ive rooted for Manning and Boynkins ever since they got here but I don't know if the light is ever going to go off for either.

Jay Johnson looks like he may be pretty decent but the jury is still out.

This is far from the poorest roster we have ever had. Besides Dawn, Whitted, Hamilton and Patton in 05 we had no one. The others on that team was David Anderson (Who), Enoch Bunch (Except for his game winner against Western Mich once never done anything), LaVar Carter (Decent RP but not a DI player), Ryan Lamb (Jirsa's 1st recruit, horrible, played 1 1/2 years at Marshall), Joe Miles (Bad decision maker, horrible shooter, played 1 year at Marshall), Collins Okafor (Big kid, awkward as #%^ on his feet, played 2 years at Marshall), Jon Ward (Who), Casey Wohlleb (Not a DI player, played at Marshall 2 years and transferred) and Adam Zimmerman (Again Who).

Give D'Antoni a few years and a PG and we will be decent.

We play hard.. After the last couple of years with Herrion that's all I really Wang is to see us play with heart and effort.. we do that.. we have a couple pieces but not nearly enough.. those other pieces will come eventually but I like the effort and attitude I see right now.. And that's the first step to turning things around.. Also GoHerd I think tonights game by Taylor was a case of him trying to do too much.. still it was a bad game for him in a lot of ways and he still almost had a triple double.. I think he'll shine if we can put more pieces around him before be leaves here.. He plays hard as hell

Reasonable outing against a very physical, fast Louisville team. I don't get to watch the Herd much, in basketball, but the first 10 minutes, showed promise. I agree with others, the lack of a point guard is tough, and I wasn't impressed with Kambola (I think that's his name) handling the ball. He's just uncoordinated and sloppy. Turnovers killed us, especially in the last 10 minutes of the first half.

I disagree about the Serbs and Manning and Boykin. The Serbs may be good in the future, but they have no business seeing the court for a D1 team right now. Manning and Boykin appear to have improved a lot, especially Boykin. However, that three by Manning towards the end of the game was UGLY... He was wide open and it would have brought Marshall within 9 and he airballed it...

Maybe I should have put Mijovic and Nikolic in the same category I but Johnson in, with the jury still out. Mijovic only played 6 mins but Nikolic played 26, I agree as a freshman he shouldn't be playing that many mins. But it goes back to not having a PG. If D'Antoni had a true PG both right now would be playing 6-10 mins a game.

Both Manning and Boykins remind me of Jamir Hanner, big bodys with little skill. Hanner transferred to Buffalo and has been riding the bench there too. Manning played 11 mins and Boykins 19. They combined for 9 points.

Marshall lost the Louisville game in the in the last 10 mins of the 1st half. The Herd basically played even with Louisville in the second half. The 2nd half Louisville scored 44, Marshall 40.

The refs were no help either all we had to do is touch them and get a foul called, we had to be murdered to have a foul called against Louisville. Louisville had reach in foul after reach in foul not called, the announcers just called it "physical play". Its not a complaint, just a fact.
