I believe one reason it's easier to compete
in women's basketball is that you can find some pretty good 6'1" players who can compete with all but the elite teams. There aren't a lot of women players over about 6'3" who are available who can really play, so only the top teams in the major conferences have those type of players.

But in men's ball, teams like ours rarely get a good player over 6'6", and since there are a lot of 6'10" or better playing on the top teams,
and they are skilled, it's difficult for the 6'5" and 6'6" guys to compete with them, expecially rebounding. Well I guess also, the top teams have guards who can really play who are as tall as our inside players.
It's just a different game. But I like them both.04-cheers

Parity is much greater in men's basketball for the simple reason that there is a much bigger base you are recruiting from. Really good men's players are a lot more common than really good women players.
