Help the Memphis Tigers Improve Your Experience
UofM sent out a football survey today. I encourage you all to contribute: (Click the image for the survey)

The Mighty Sound of the South is one of the best bands in the country, yet silly advertisements/music plays over them constantly. Microphones for the band could add immensely to the college game-day experience so many strive for by highlighting another extremely talented, hard working, and scholarship earning group on Saturdays.

That email said we'd be entered into a drawing to win some free tickets, and then they didn't take any of my contact info when I filled out the survey. I call shenanigans...

Good one.

I don't follow directions very well, so I didn't stop at "the one thing".
- bigger, more vocal student section. The new folks in charge have done so much better than the previous regime in so many areas, surely they can come up with some creative ways to improve student participation. The students who do come to the games seem to be more vocal this year. Winning probably has something to do with it.
- cut the price of water in half or provide the vendors with special water cups where they can sell cups of water and ice for $1. Their margin on water would still be insane, we wouldn't have to pay $4 bucks for a bottle of water and we wouldn't end up with a mountain of plastic water bottles at the end of each game.
- show more replays on the jumbo screen
- stop the minor league baseball type promos during the game
- show more highlights from the past of Tiger wins and former great players

I can promise you this will not stop until we get 50,000 in the stadium paying full price for tickets.

I got the survey link via email. I assure you that at 2 things are true:
1. They want to Guage the gamedy experience duringgood winning season.
2. They are taking our temperature to see if they can do a donation program for football.

I wrote a novel in the part where they asked for our opinion. That being said, we've come a long way from where we were 10 years ago.

Could be, but my take was slightly different.
On #1, I think it's just a more proactive group that really cares about making the game day experience better. They realize they need to do all they can to keep people coming back so we can build our base. Of course, winning never hurts.
On #2, Our ticket prices are relatively inexpensive. I think they will need to raise those before even thinking about a donation program.

Take advantage of the asset we have in Tiger Lane. Visit other great tailgating schools on gameday for ideas. Make Tiger tailgating the thing to do, and the crowds will follow. And keep winning.

On your number 2, if we played in a 40,000 seat stadium, then a donation may work. But in a 60,000 seat stadium, people would just pass on season tickets and buy single game tickets to avoid the donation

I agree that a donation program would have a marginal effect. But I have really good seats and I will get bumped. I am a donor, but a super donor would knock me out pretty quick.
