Miami has a real issue where it only produces that atmosphere every 2 years when FSU visits. It has to expand things beyond just FSU.
I just don't think they'll ever be able.
how many schools evince that atmosphere ever ...
the videos evidence the dormant passion just waiting to be rekindled ...

the place looked pretty darn awesome; it was rocking. Hard to imagine how it could have been better.
After the renovation it IS going to be (a lot) better. With the roof over the stands, field lowered, and rows added toward the field on the sidelines it will be quite a bit louder, as well as updated.
We won't be as close to the sidelines after the renovation as we were in the Orange Bowl, but with stands moved in closer on the sidelines, deepening the stadium a little bit, and a roof over all seating, the combined effect will mean a quite a bit louder and more intimate Sun Life - things currently lacking when compared to the old OB.
I am not a big fan of roof-ed or domed stadium but not having to deal with downpours in the late summer and fall while in the stands will be a huge improvement.
A guess, playing the same level of Football - I think Miami improves to the point of becoming an elite Program, but even without that - home attendance goes up at least 5k per game after the renovation.
The renovations will help recruiting - both in terms of improving the game day experience and the look of the stadium, which will mean more elite talent which will mean more winning which will then mean more attendance.
I don't want to seem all Polly Anna about this. I perhaps have lived in SoFlo too long - traffic, heat, etc. BUT, the renovation of Sun Life and what it will mean in attending Hurricanes games IS something to look forward to.

Sigh. You do well for the major games...Just like every other school. Miami has never consistently come close to filling their stadium to capacity. That's just the truth. That's what my comment was saying.
I never said FSU was the only game you will ever draw well, but it's one of the few you guys have that is guaranteed not to be a mediocre/poor turnout.

BACKHANDED COMPLIMENT
Not intended to be mean.
I believe it is a real issue holding Miami back.
Atmosphere is huge in college football for many reasons. Just think Miami deserves better than the support they show. If the folks that claimed to be Miami fans in Florida actually showed to games, they would fill a 100K stadium every week.
Not point I guess, just what I think of when it comes to Miami. Hopefully, things continue to look up for Miami.
