Had a great time in NOLA last weeked
The new stadium was great. The food and drink were great. The hotel was great. Tigers won. And I even won at Harrah's for a change.

Even though it was played November 15, it was Tulane's homecoming game and a lot of people traveled from out of town.
I wasn't there (alas) but I'm hearing that reported attendance (28,614) was also the actual attendance.

its a hard stadium to judge because of the weird club seating but it wasnt jam packed in the general seating areas and nobody seeming to really know how many seats are there doesnt help. i would say it was 90% capacity - whatever that is.

I actually talked to the stadium manager of Yulman, who went out with our group after the game. He happens to be a Memphis fan, lol. He said nobody will believe it, due to the announced attendance (which he doesn't control), but that Yulman's REAL capacity is 25,500.
It was full, however. What was tricky to me is the stadium configuration on the visitor side of the field, where the private suites and that Family Club run the length of the field. Each person has the option of going back and forth between the club and their seat, so on TV, it looks like people are missing, when they really aren't.

My friends went into the Family Club and said it was packed.

The issue is, there is one # that is for how many reserved seats, and there is another # for "capacity", which includes the club and the viewing area. After five home games, the consensus appears to be that the "Capacity" is a genuine, bona-fide 30,000. However, the # of actual seats has been calculated anywhere from about 22,800 to about 26,500.

That has been a topic of repeated discussion on the Tulane site, as you can easily imagine. We're all thrilled that the suites/club areas are so nice (and they are Very nice), but it has the effect of getting people to stay away from their seat for longer periods of time.

Interesting. The stadium manager said 25K capacity (I assume he meant seats), + 500. I was thinking he meant the standing room only area outside a club entrance was the 500, but I didn't hear that part clearly. He definitely said that the announced number doesn't match the "capacity."
That leads to a question. Are there any tickets sold inside the club where they DON'T also have a seat in the stands? That might explain the discrepancy.

If you can't have a great time in NOLA, then the problem is you.

I haven't been in a while and the itch is definitely there. Recovery days are needed for sure.

Very true. The same can be said for bowl games.
