The Louisiana Tech University Irondawgs men's and women's teams captured the 2006 USAPL Collegiate Nationals. The Irondawgs Men's team also was national champion in 1978, 1985, 1986, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. The Women's team earned titles in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003.

In football we beat the previous national champion in BYU. I think we were their only loss that year. Does that count?

FIU has 2 national championships and one runner up in men's soccer in Division 2, and was national runner up in soccer in D1.

I don't think that was BYU's only loss, but I'm pretty sure that was our only win that year.
