Quote:He had never done it before. He learned by watching YouTube videos and asking other farmers for tips. Really.

That is awesome. I love life.

(and I am insanely jealous.)

Yep. Cool story. Obviously his years (and salary) in the NFL have allowed him to persue his dream.

There's a quote in the movie Days of Thunder that I find true..

Growing up I didn't care about farming, all I wanted to do was race cars.. Now I race cars and all I wanna do is farm..

That holds true for me.. Growing up I worked on a farm.. Hated it, couldn't wait to get a real job and go to college, and get into the real world.. Now I am, and I long for the days of farming.

My grandpa and his brothers farmed a small 500 acre farm. It's been in the family for over 150 years. My mom's cousin is the one doing most of the work now. It's too bad it isn't a larger farm. He can handle most of it himself, but man I wish I could go work full time on the farm.

When I was growing up my grandpa would take me with to sit in the combine during harvest, some of the best days of my life were spent in the cab of that gray 6 row combine.

Don't they even have a "little buddy" seat in the combines just for that purpose? Farming is a job that won't be outsourced but I think even they are feeling some heat with these mega farm conglomerates propping up.

On the newer combines they do. That one just had an extra wide left armrest that you could squeeze a small person onto. As I got older, I sat on an upside down 5 gallon bucket with a pillow on it haha.
