I think Brescacin is the most under-utilized player on the team. I love the kids length, I like his toughness over the middle, and he has great hands. He certainly seemed to have better rapport with Lynch then he has with Hare.

One of the disappointments in this team is their inability to throw downfield. With Brescacin and Brown, NIU has two very good wideouts and the Huskies have not used these weapons to their advantage.

I thought that too. Brescacin has good hands and seems to have good body control in the air, and can fight for balls. I don't think he needs to be all that open to throw the ball to him.

How have they not utilized Brown? May want to check some of the bigger wins of the year...Northwestern, Toledo....

I didn't say they haven't utilized Brown - I said they haven't used him to his full advantage in tandem with Brescasin. That said, I went and checked and will admit he has put up bigger numbers this season then I thought. He's 21st in the nation in receiving and closing in on 1000 yards. Not too shabby. Imagine what he might accomplish if the Huskies actually had an aerial attack.

You mean if Hare could have gotten him the ball on the 5+plays where he had already beaten the secondary and was gone? Yes, his #'s would be better.

I think if you're going to say "under-utilize" for anyone, you should say who you want them to take plays away. There are so many comments on "give Stingily the ball more, give Huff carries, give Bebee the ball more, etc". That's all great, but there are only so many plays a game.

Yes we have skill players at wideout, but unfortunately Hare is not the passer we expected going into this season......if anything, he turned into more of a runner - a bit of a shock (Maddie was supposed to be that guy). We aren't able to stretch the field. IMHO Hare's mechanics seem to be a little off.....maybe that can be addressed heading into next spring.

RE: Brescacin?
Hare set the Missouri record for completion percentage his senior year. On the long throws the ball is thrown on a very flat trajectory which leaves less room for error than a pass thrown with more loft which allows the receiver more time to get to the ball. Would seem like a simple correction for Hare to make.

Major plus. I wish we would see a few more of the Brandon Marshall/Jeffery type plays where Hare will just let Canada go up and get it.

I don't think Hare can make throws like that. All of his passes are lazers, which is why he is always over throwing open receivers deep.

He made a couple good long throws against Ohio. Brown couldn't make the grab, but Brescasin would have the height/athleticism if he's able to do that on friday.

i don't know why on 3rd and say 8, why we don't do a delay and sneak a TE over the middle for a 1st down. Or on goal line uase a misdirection going one way and again delay a TE going out the other way.

Semisch, at 6-8, is an awfully tall target. Does he even have a catch this year? Anyone who remembers the 2012 game at Army should recall the remarkable TD reception he had in that game.

For sure, it would be a lot harder to overthrow him.

I'm guessing Semisch couldn't block and hence has never been in good favor as a TE.

I have seen him make catches - even one for a TD. He is so damn tall, why not just play a quick easy pitch-and-catch with him? I just don't get him not being used at all. I heard the rap against him was his blocking. Dang, you don't need to use him every play, but take advantage of that height. No one can reach as high as he can. Then again, the tight end has been an almost non-existent factor in our offense.
