"Low" being relative of course.

I thought the same thing, he's got to be thinking that as well.

ND is private and doesn't give that up. I am sure that is what his salary was which means nothing in total compensation. Most estimates are north of 4 million for Kelly. If u click on his name he made more 3 years ago? After he signed an extension after the national champ game appearance?

Actually, by law, Notre Dame does have to identify their five highest-paid employees. There is an IRS form called the 990 that must be filed annually that identifies the highest paid employees for each educational or nonprofit organization private or public. There are no exceptions.

Could it be that Kelly is not one of the 5 highest paid employees? Illuminati?

Yeah ditto that. IMO Campbell has done a nice job with recruiting and also think he is a stand up guy. I have met him before, rather soft spoken but has a passion for football and can get after it. IMO Campbell and his staff will be looking to move up here this off season, like most MAC coaches who have successful seasons. The past has shown that MAC Championships usually create those opportunities.

I think Gholston, the TE, Robinson, and the team exorcist all make more than Kelly.

Look around at the actual contracts of these higher coaches very little of the money is paid by the university. What u state above is where they got that low number. Most money comes from "media" and outside sources like booster clubs and other things. I think urban meyer gets a million from Nike in his contract. Total compensation is what counts and ND doesnt have to disclose that if it is not coming from the university itself. Some 3 million plus coaches only get 200 grand from the university. ND is paying Weiss more because they are paying all of it themselves. The university has lowered its cut of Kelly's salary in his new 2013 contract.

RE: Fleck in Negotiations?
This is a great thing to focus on before the biggest game of the year. Maybe we can come up with just a couple other major distractions to seal it completely. No need to watch film or even practice. We should just put those things on the back burner and focus on contract negotiations with our head coach.

I don't see this as a distraction... if its WMU extending him the contract extension... It's not like he's interviewing with other teams the week before... (cough) Darnell (cough)....

We really should be focusing on what's on the menu for pregame meal. Buddy of mine taking his motor coach up the night before and he is going to get his smoker fired up and do a brisket. Yumm...

I need to know how he goes about smoking the brisket. I'm some what of an accomplished cook but smoking a good brisket has been my down fall, unless you enjoy shoe leather....

Now this is an appropriate topic before a big game.

If we can point to one key pivotal play of the season, I say it was stopping Ball State on 4th down on our 8 yard line to win the game and cap the comeback. From that point on we've been rolling.

I'm not entirely sure how things would've unfolded if BSU got that last second touchdown.

I agree. I've wondered - had we pulled out a victory over Toledo, how would we have done that next week against Ball State? One could point to the poor first half in Muncie as perhaps a hangover from the tough loss the week before, but there's also no guarantee we would've been ready to handle success at that point had we beat Toledo. We certainly proved that we can overcome adversity in that Ball State game.

My biggest concern heading into Mount Pleasant is that things have gone so smoothly over the past 3-4 games that we haven't had to overcome any real adversity since being down 7-0 at BG. We haven't been punched in the mouth in a long time. That's almost sure to happen at some point in Mount Pleasant - and how we respond when it does will be critical.
