Hell we drew right at 47,000 for freaking MTSU. I think you and some others are going to be surprised at the crowd this week (and next).

Well, we need to sell about 20,000 tickets in the next 2 days then..

Well dayum! Disturbing to say the least. But, if the weather holds up, we should have a good walk up. Fingers crossed.

Wrong. You don't build a program by giving away tickets.

UT womens basketball did. They gave away tickets for years, even when they were winning big, and still do. I would go the $5 route. Say a one day friday deal. Got to get fans in the stands for the next two games. Bowl and conference reps are watching.

When you're basically starting from scratch? Yes you do. Louisville did it 12 years ago for an entire season. Look now. They pack their stadium and have even had to add an upper deck. Many programs do it when trying to create a fanbase. (I'm not saying we don't have a fanbase. We do. It's just not large) You get people in the stadium no matter what you have to do. You show them a good product, they buy in.

I hear your concerns about attendance. The reality is that it's going to take multiple years of winning to generate a fanbase that can come close to filling up the Liberty Bowl. We've been very unlucky this year with weather and dates (fall break, Halloween) that have negatively impacted attendance. I am confident that our administration is doing everything it can to get more butts in the seats for these next two games.

That's not how Miss. St. did it. They had a vocal coach that reached out to the fan base and asked for support. Said he needed them to attend games despite winning or losing. Buy in and the wins will come.

That worked. They had sold out Davis Wade before these past few seasons.

Um, did you just compare us to an SEC land grant school?

if we played Bama, TN, Ole Miss, Arkansas, etc...I bet we'd sell out, too.

Last time the university offered free admission to a game was a disaster. It likely will never happen again. Thankfully. There is a reason tickets to Madness came at a price this year. And it wasn't to pay for entertainment.

No, I didn't compare anyone. I said that's how you do it. dumb***. And we didn't sell out playing those schools either.

They had bad coaches and horrible seasons before Mullen. He vocally reached out and said buy in and we'll do our job to be good and will win. I believe they sold out his second season there and have had multiple sell out seasons since.

FYI ... I went to ticket office today at lunch and purchased 10 of the $10 tickets. Little did I know that you get a group rate, so essentially my tickets cost $8 per. Not bad at all!!! Go Tigers!
