Marshall Fans...need some info
I need to know some parking info and game day traffic info...

here's my problem, time will be very short for us. We are leaving NY right after Western's basketball game against St Joe and it's a 580 mile drive from the Madison Square Garden to Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

The basketball game starts at 6pm (most likely 6:30 since it's the 2nd game) so we look to be getting out of NY around 9pm on Thanksgiving night. I wouldn't expect heavy traffic.

So the plan is to drive to Hagerstown, a 3.7 hour drive and 244 miles and getting there at around 1am. Normally I would make it to Cumberland in 4 hours (300 miles) but I can't afford another speeding ticket/ points hit..

just got a 90 in a 70 in Carter CO KY, on the way to the Navy game.

That leaves us 336 miles and by google maps 5 hours. If we leave the hotel in Hagerstown at 6am we should get to the stadium by 11-11:30 depending on restroom stops.

So what I need to know is there any handicap (with permit) close to the stadium? If not is there any drop off points close to the stadium? My wife had aortobifemoral aortic bypass surgery a month ago and still has trouble walking long distant.

If no handicap lots (muts are the best I've seen on this..a whole lot just for handicap permit parking right next to the stadium) what lot should have open spaces? With it being Black Friday are you expecting lower attendance numbers...MORE open parking?

I don't really want to waste 30 to 40 minutes looking for parking...

if we miss the first 10 minutes or so....the game could be out of reach.

PM me your address and I will mail you a parking pass to the garage on 3rd Avenue. It's a block from the stadium.

If she can walk the extra block or even if you dropped her off on the corner at the stadium then parked and walked over to meet her it shouldn't be an issue.

As far as the attendance, who knows? We've been playing on "Black Friday" for 3 or 4 years now so as a fan base we are use to it. How many come out to see will depend on the usual, weather , the game vs UAB this weekend, etc etc etc...

Drive safe!

Your wife must be as tough as nails. Kudos to her and hope that her surgery corrected her ailment. 04-cheers

Might I echo that sentiment. You two have a safe trip down here and enjoy the hospitality. That's class Banker... Sheer class. Good form.

I've made that trip several times and you have nothing to worry about on I-79 provided you keep it under about 85.

Handicapped dropoff is in M Club Blvd. (what is really 4 1/2 Alley or College Avenue, if you are old enough to remember that), between the stadium and the McDonald's on Fifth Avenue.

Come into town at 29th Street, take Rt. 60 West which will dump you in town on Third Avenue. Stay on Third til you pass the stadium, then go left at 20th Street/Marshall Memorial Blvd. Turn left at M Club Blvd. (4 1/2 Alley) and you will see drop off just past M Club Pavilion on southwest corner of stadium, right behind McDonalds. Come back to 20th Street and turn left back onto Third, and parking garage is 1 1/2 blocks on right. Good Luck and be safe.
