This is supposed to be about MEMPHIS. While I get that everyone, both fans and mockers, are disappointed with Wichita State and the exhibition, we are supposed to be about Memphis...even being critically supportive but still supportive. Constant bait to take a shot at OUR basketball coach hurts the program.

I think you totally missed the point. I think the point of this thread is that Football is still going on, and for the basketball threads to dominate the front page is an embarrassment.

Maybe you inferred that but there is no reason to assume that OP was implying anything about Pastner...

At this point I believe you have to be Patner's mother (possibly wife I suppose), as now even people complimenting the football coach and saying he deserves a raise is taken as an attack on Pastner, per your own admitted inference...

Back to the thread. He is going to get the raise he deserves. From worst in the NCAA to being in the talks of the playoff committee for the additional spot in only three years is incredible.

He is going to get the raise he deserves. From worst in the NCAA to being in the talks of the playoff committee for the additional spot in only three years is incredible.

What is an "additional spot"? Did I miss some news about not enough P5 teams to fill up the 11 spots in the "New Years 6"?

I was referring to the Peach Bowl, which I believe the top ranked non G5 conference team gets a spot in. Additional spot was probably not a very good way of saying that.

Not speaking for anyone but myself, I agree with him. Here's why. After a modest salary, the coach is being paid by donations. They know better than me what they think a coach is worth. Why? Because it is there hard earned money. They are in a far better position to know the number that a coach its worth.

I can assure everyone that my OP had nothing to do with Pastner. There is no way I could care less than I do about the Memphis Tigers basketball team.

I posted it because I am a Tiger football fan and I thought it was interesting. That, and I agree that one way or the other he won't be the 70th highest paid coach next season. I just hope he is here when it happens.
