College Basketball 2014-15
It's Time for a massive thread.

If I hear the word Platoon one more time my head may explode. But wow, UK will be tough for anyone to beat. It's laughable how much talent they have on one team.

Part of me is hoping that if UK is as good as they appear to be that they go undefeated and lose in the Championship Game. I think it would be hilarious. But I really hope that they just get beaten earlier in the tournament so we don't have to listen to a UK love fest any longer than we have to.

I hate the word "Platoon" because Coach Calipari is acting like he is the first coach to do the 5 in 5 out thing. Just like the stupid dribble drive thing. Perry Clark used the mass subs strategy at Tulane with the second group being called the "Posse", Dean Smith at one point had the "Blue Squad" and Pitino during one season did that at Louisville with the "Red unit". I did love how Andy Katz basically went out of his way during the halftime interview not to use the term.

Jim Calhoun is now an announcer on ESPN...let that sink in. He's the equivalent of Lou Holtz, can hardly understand a word. I'm setting the O/U at 7 times the gum he chews on like cud flies out of his mouth. I guess teamed up with Gottlieb they can take care of both of Ollie's testicles at the same time all year while they praise UCONN. And Battier as a sideline reporter for the Duke game, really going for maximum coverage.

At some point this platoon thing is going to lead to problems. It's going to cause problems with flow and he will hopefully be put in a position where he's forced to choose "closers". At that point someone is going to feel undervalued.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I think a UK national championship is a foregone conclusion. I know it's only a couple games, but I just don't think anyone stands a chance. It really puts a damper on the season to know who the national champion is in November. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Maybe. But the beauty of the NCAA Tournament is that one bad shooting game coupled with a good shooting game, and your season is over.

If the the tournament was like the NBA and involved a seven game series, then yes there would be almost no doubt Kentucky would win it all.

UK was losing to Buffalo at the half the other night. Let's not crown them champions just yet. The best/most talented teams don't always win the tournament.

No team is going to beat them in a half court set with their height, even though I think they get stagnant when they have Stein, Lyles and Towns in at the same time. An athletic team that can hit the boards and get out in transition may give them some problems.

SDSU beats BYU 92-87 in 2OT in Maui last night.

Also Nebraska lost to Rhode Island, dropping them out of top 25 last week, or we would have had a 3 game stretch of top 25 matchups.

BYU opens up game today 11-11 from 3. Chase Fischer 7-7 in 7 minutes. make that 8-8.

This Butler UNC game is very exciting. UNC gets overrated every year it seems.

RE: College Basketball 2014-15
The Huggins halftime interview made my night. Sideline reporter tells him they've forced 20 or so turnovers and that he must be pleased with how they're playing defensively. He gives her a look, says the defense was horrible and starts ranting about how many layups they've given up. Everyone but her could see his response coming a mile away. 03-lmfao

KSU and Pitt are in a tight game early. Same with Cleveland State and UL, who are seeing who can shoot the worst from the field.

No comments on UL only putting up 45 on Cleveland St? Fire Pitino - he doesn't know how to coach an offense.

NC Central beat E. Illinois by 25. Wow, we're going to get killed by them. What's that? We already played them and won? Huh, wouldn't know that from the posts on this board.

And Xavier, who from the UC fans and Lance Mcalisters of the world that I've heard over the past few weeks are better than the Sixers, just lost to UTEP.

X scores 73 and looses to mid major UTEP.

It's a good thing that they know how to run offense.

Wait....

What.....

You're telling me that defense matters?????

you can have all the 3 pt gunners in the world, but if you let the other team shoot 54%, you ain't winning
