I am already hard at work drawing up the legislation to force Arkansas to share its Millions upon Millions upon Millions of TV revenue with Arkansas State.

I'll let you know when people stop laughing long enough to pass it.

The P5 schools have the political clout not the non p5. Not going to happen, and to be honest I don't want to live in a country where it does happen.

Of course they can. But you can go ahead and hold your breath waiting for, e.g., the Louisiana state legislature to deduct $20 million from LSU's funding and give it to UL - Monroe. Good luck with that, LOL.

The only time I can think of a "flagship" (which is a mostly BS term) has been sunk politically was in Nevada and that was because of the rapid population growth of Las Vegas that shifted the political landscape dramatically. Add in a transient population that had no strong ties to the issue and just saw the nearest school for the kids on the wrong end of the stick and that sort of shift became possible.

That dynamic semi-existed in Florida to allow Florida State to emerge and to allow USF, UCF, FIU, and FAU to grow at paces that would be unthinkable in other states but the Florida situation can be distinguished in a number of ways, their population boom was so dramatic that throwing a lot of money at a lot of schools was easier than trying to reshape UF and FSU to meet the demand for seats in college classrooms, neither campus could have been reshaped enough to deal with the demand.

It's very dramatic. 73% of the people in Nevada live in the county that includes Las Vegas, at the southern end of a very large state. Also, there has never been much connection between northern Nevada and southern Nevada. The connections between Reno/Tahoe and the Bay Area, and between Las Vegas and the LA basin, are much stronger than the connections between Reno/Tahoe and Vegas. There isn't even a freeway connecting Reno and Las Vegas.
