Derailed grammar p***ing match thread # 18,432
2009-10: 24-10 unranked. NIT second round (thank you Elliot Williams!)

2010-11: 25-10 unranked. NCAA round of 64 (12 seed, almost beat Arizona)

2011-12: 26-9 unranked. NCAA round of 64 (8 seed, lost to St. Louis)

2012-13: 31-5 ranked 19th in AP / 15th in USA Today. NCAA tournament round of 32. (6 seed lost badly to Michigan State)

2013-14: 24-10 ranked 19th in one final regular season poll unranked in final poll. NCAA tournament round of 32. (8 seed lost badly to Virginia)

1 NIT (1-1)
4 NCAAs (2-4) seeds: 6,8,8,12

Two years end of regular season Top 25 rankings
One year final poll Top 25 ranking

I think these results are a bit shy of calling it a Top 25 resume; more like 35-45.....

I really think we can do better than this (CUSA was really weak).

Have we been worse? Sure, but not with the level of facilities, the attendance and support, and the salary we have / can offer these days.

As Stammers said in another post: Everyone is going to get what they want this year. We're going to find out if JP can coach or not.

Being in year 6 and having to ask the question is not a positive.

I don't know if he is or not.

At this point I'm not sure exactly what I think; but, we're all fixin' to find out what we've got.

I guess we all have to not let one loss define us yet. Which I'm guilty of. Just like we can't let a big win get us to excited, which I'm guilty of from time to time as well. But the start of this season is becoming the norm, & I don't like it.

My concern has more to do with what I was concerned about a couple of years ago. When people start to realize Josh isn't the coach he/we sold him to be that recruiting would start to dry up. I don't want to hear about the Lawsons either. Tell me they would have come here if we didn't hire their dad.

Who cares, he got them.

Your either landing recruits like the Lawson or you aren't.

We got them.

We got another ESPN top 60 4 star big man locked up for 2016 already.

I think this collection of talent can be molded into an NCAA team...

The question can Josh mold them into an NCAA team?

Yeah we got them. Are you not concerned that we have to hire daddies now even for the local guys? We aren't getting interest anymore from studs outside of the city.

We also are doing a lot more "aren'ts" the last two recruiting seasons. Aren'ts are becoming the norm. Name on good recruit we got this year or last year that didn't require hiring a family member.

No

KJ committed LONG before his dad was hired. It only became an issue at the last minute after his dad decided he wanted to coach college BB.

Nick Marshall's dad isn't on the staff either. Nor is Dom Magee's.

RE: JPs 5 years
I just got finished watching the post game interview.

Pastner is as befuddled as the rest of us. He has no idea what to do now.

Play slower, play faster, try another option at point guard.

The one thing he's sure of is that we can't turn the ball over 20+ times a game........well, no sh*t.

Wow.

Its a message board, not a term paper.

You really want to play the spell check fairy tonight?

Lets not do this.

KJ you'd expect. He wasn't top ten like his brother. Isn't he ranked around 50?

Its a message board, not a term paper and there is no way in hell it confused you in any way.

You really want to play the spelling fairy game tonight?

Yes it did/does. typo's are one thing but bad grammar is annoying. Makes you look like you are. Which you are.

Daddies? Is that a typo or are there other fathers that Pastner has hired in order to get recruits, or are you exaggerating not quite clear about the facts?
