Pastner is done. I just hope Nichols doesn't transfer at mid-year so we can keep him around for the new staff.

maybe we should have had a few practices before the season started.....I heard some of the other colleges do it so that they know what to do when they play in their first game

I agree - it is the first game. And let's be fair, Calipari has had some relatively rough starts at UK when he's had a lot of new faces. However, he has usually been able to mold them into at least a respectable team by midway to 3/4 through the season. The test will be how the team improves over the season, e.g., this is Pastner's season to define whether he can be an effective coach or not. I hope he will be - I think he knows the game (but maybe cannot communicate it effectively) and makes a great representative for our university but at the end of the day, letting our program wither away into oblivion is not acceptable, no matter how nice or respectable the coach is.

B,
Which bandwagon are you jumping to? I'm both feet in (as coach Pastner would say) with you this time.

I'm sort of thinking Auburn.

Trade Nichols and Goodwin for draft picks? The Jimmy Johnson model!

It would be better if we hadn't practiced. Maybe we'd have less concussions and tendinitis

RE: its over
As has been the case since '09 we can't seem to put an experienced team on the floor at the beginning of the season. When we have experienced guards our frontline is the reverse and vice versa. By the time our inexperienced players grow up our experienced ones graduate. Josh manages to bring in a transfer here and there like Dixon and Johnson and this years Johnson but it's not enough help. The way Shaq played today all of my post goes out the window. I need more experience I guess. I'm not going to cut off my Johnson because of it though. Maybe this years Johnson will get back to his Vandy status and help mold the others into experienced players. I have to go now and buy some stock in Johnson & Johnson.
