Thank You Coach Fuente...
Just a quick Thank You for taking on the Memphis job and for everything you have done for the program... I wish I had a crystal ball to see where we might be 3 or 4 years down the road. Go Tigers!

So what percentage of the crazies on this board are going to pull the 180 and despise him when he leaves for greener pastures?

We can't be mad at the man for leaving the program in better shape than he found it.
Anyway, this season is still going on - we need to stop worrying about whether or not he's going to leave and just enjoy what he's accomplished.
Let the boosters do what they at the end of the season can and if he moves on, he moves on.

Just had this conversation with a buddy. Unless CJF goes to UT or Ole Miss, his next team will instantly become my second favorite team. My gut says we haven't seen the best of the Fuente era in Memphis.

Coach Fuente has done an amazing job.
Spoke to a friend who was at the Highland Hundred meeting last night. Based on comments the coach made about his wife and family loving the city and his personal belief in the programs's potential - I think he really wants to stay and take us to greatness. We just need to pay him and his staff and continue to invest in facilities.
See everyone at the Liberty Bowl on Saturday!

Coach Fuente is a good man. What happens in the future is anyone guess. I know this, we all need to support our Coach and coaching staff as it has taken all of them to turn the Memphis Program around to were we are today.
You can also thank the Administration for supporting and working hard for Memphis Football to succeed.

RE: Thank You Coach Fuente...
I agree, he's a good coach. I think the best thing we can do is support the program, with folks in the seats. IMHO, Fuente's background is the Big 12, and if we can position ourselves towards that conference, we maybe could keep him.
As a Baylor alum also, I think the Big 12 may be forced to consider expansion in a couple of years, and the better we are (in revenue and attendance), the more likely we would be considered. UT is not so dominant in the conference as they once were, and there's talk of converting the Longhorn Network into a Big 12 Network. This means that Tier III rights will have to be redone, meaning side sports like basketball and Olympic sport rights. I really think things may be working towards a good future for the Memphis Tigers.....I hope.
'Course, I'm a total homer for Memphis, so maybe I'm just dreaming, but I think there is some realism in what I'm thinking.

Who is JF's agent? That will have some influence on how aggressive he would pursue another job.

Agree. It will end up being football that unites this city again, and the last coach to do that was probably Rex dockery.
Player - of course it was deangelo.
Add a player of that caliber under fuente - watch out!
