The rockets were minus 19 in Black's 10 minutes of playing time thru 3rd quarter. Worst on team. Got his in garbage time as did Joey and Stokes who had his way with Black.

Black is an un drafted rookie who made the team and gets quite a bit of PT all things considered. The guy is a success story and a good one.
He's a great kid as well.

Read my post. Black's was in 10 minutes thru 3 quarters. Harden, Howard approx. 30 minutes of play. PER minus for Black was over minus 80 when starters were playing.

Black has exceeded what I ever thought he would do. So kudos to him. He's proving it may have just been the coaching while he was here. I believe one of the worst things for Pastner's rep would be for anyone in that 2010 class + Adonis to do well in the nba. & by well I mean productive role players. It would look horrible for him.

I'm not sure how having a player that you coached for 3 years make an NBA roster can be viewed as negative.

If just one does well I'd say no big deal. But if 2 or more go on to have solid 5+ years of success, yes it could look bad for a coach who never really produced with those players & who never really saw those players grow (but maybe regress) under his watch.

I don't put it on Josh at all. Tarik was given the opportunity and did little with it except foul. His stay at Kansas was not exactly some revelation.

Leuer was on a break and Black was behind the play. It was essentially a breakaway dunk with Black taking a swipe at it.
