Thanks Coach!

"I don't care what school you went to," Fuente said. "If you live in this city, I want this to be your team."

I seem to remember some that wanted him fired last year and even the year before. These are the people that I would often think only looked at record and not the product on the field. It was clear game to game that the product was improving even from season 1.

2500 at the last home game of the Porter era. Very telling. Fuente has leapfrogged this program light years in a very short time.

I recall some that clearly wanted his butt firmly on the hot seat.

RE: Looking back at this, and amazed where we are today.(Football)
Not really what the thread was about...

We should celebrate our coach and team, and be grateful for the success of this season! If we win out, worst case it's a Co-Conference Championship. We have 2 games left to play and we're sitting at 7-3. I wanted to remind everyone of where we were before Coach Fuente got here. I have seen a couple of threads about Coach Fuente potentially taking another job. I don't know if he will or he won't, but what he has been able to accomplish here in just his 3rd season is incredible. He was truly thankful for this opportunity, and he was extremely proud and excited to become the Head Coach of The University of Memphis football team. I watched the videos again tonight and you could see that.

Here's to hoping he stays and becomes our Patterson. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that with Coach Fuente it's as bright as it can be.

I hope the Liberty Bowl is packed for the last 2 games. This team has earned it!

Put down the pipe and slowly walk away you have had more than enough.

You are not dreaming. I remember the anti-"noticeable improvement" crowd.

Obvious improvement is easier to recognize like this year, but most who had been following the Tigers could see the team improving over the past 2 years.
