As one Bearcat that worked in downtown Philly, in the historic area, you are indeed safe there. Fine dining and nice pubs. Visit the 'Tavern' where Ben Franklin and the boys used to hang out.

I echo your sentiments--that historic area is one all Americans should see; very worthwhile.

I'm fine with the a noon kickoff this late in the season. Sadly for Temple and the AAC, I can't imagine much attendance for this one.
