Temple vs Penn State
I am surprised there is no thread for that game. The Owls represented the AAC very well, in my opinion. Game was tied 3-3 at half and 6-6 in the 3rd quarter before Penn State finally capitalized on unfortunate turnovers. I hope Temple manages a 6th win - they will be a tough bowl opponent for some team.

Temple was actually +3 in turnovers at one point of the game. All 3 of their subsequent drives started in PSU territory, but they only got 6 points out of those 3 drives. Temple trailed 13-6 even before they started turning the ball over (5 times on 6 possessions).
Not picking on Temple, I respect their program. But the story of the game IMO wasn't Temple turning the ball over, but rather the failure of Temple's offense to do anything on the PSU turnovers. It's tough to win when your defense has only given up 1 touchdown and is +3 in turnovers, but you're still -7 on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately I missed the game due to travel but looked at the stats and have a question or two.
PSU has played like Jekyll and Hyde much of the year, at times displaying a pathetic offense, especially the o-line with youth and inexperience. The only constant has been their D, solid much of the year.
In this particular game PSU ran very effectively with both Belton and the bigger back Lynch. I know that injuries have kept their best o-lineman down for much of the year. Is he healthy now?
Second question. What in the world is wrong with Hackenberg? If the line is healthier and ran blocked effectively against Temple, what happened to Hackenberg? I've seen him miss wide open receivers in the little I've watched him this year. Does he miss O'Brien that much?
Finally, PSU should be 7 and 3 if one of two ridiculous bad calls hadn't gone tOSU way when they played them. In the nearly 50 years of watching football, I have never seen two blatant bad calls in the same game that matched those bad calls, replay booth and all.
PSU is a good team that will be a very good, if not great, team in a year or two.

Quick answers:
(1) Yes, we had our best offensive lineman back for most of the Temple game. He played a few plays the week before (his first game of 2014) --- but only a few plays.
(2) Hackenberg: I'd say it's 70% he's acting like an entitled jerk (his body language and overall demeanor just suck this year), 20% our offensive line, 10% missing O'Brien.
PSU may have been unlucky vs. Ohio State, but we've had some close wins this year too (UCF, Rutgers, Indiana). 6-4 is an appropriate record, all and all.
Good luck to Temple --- I can't root for them vs. UC because I'm also a Bearcats fan, but hope you guys win at Tulane and get Bowl eligible! Nice team, pretty impressive defense the Owls have!
