I think he's gone. That kid is an NBA player and based on his demeanor last night, I think he knows it.

Hurley is still going to interview at DePaul. Prohm is going to be in the mix at Mason. The coaching carousel is not over yet.

There were over 12 NBA scouts at the game. I think if the coach leaves, Payne leaves. The Racer fans were a ok bunch, I was right beside them. They love their team and show their support. They had former players with them and I thought that was also cool.

One thing Mason has going for it is that Prohm is a Fairfax county native.

Just my opinion, but if I were he, and I had a strong indication that Payne would return, I would hold out for something other than Mason. He is a big fish in a small pond right now, he would be a minnow in the DC market, and the situation with fan support, facilities, etc. are much better with Murray St. If he holds on he can probably get a better situation than Mason.

I can't imagine what would compel him to go to Mason. That job is a downgrade for him, and a potential career killer. I don't get the impression that he is looking to jump at the first option. If he were, I think he would have already been gone.

Mason has completely lost whatever name recognition they may have had. Recruits today will see their run as ancient history and not relevant to them. Hewitt helped kill the program. They are destined to be an A-10 bottom feeder forever.
