'Treadwell' better 'tread better' if he wants to finish the season on the roster

Looking at Akron's roster, I'm not sure if they're as good as everyone says they are. Treadwell lost some key supporting players, and they'll be counting on some true freshmen to contribute. Ohio, too, is weaker than everyone is saying they are. They lost a lot of players from last year. If Kaminsky can't play this year, they're a step down this year

He will be back by conference play. No big deal.

Maybe not since according to the PD he roughed up a women's basketball player from Akron. Even Dambrot might have trouble getting him back. It's not quite a Ray Rice type situation but close enough to be a tough one.

yes but he also got suspended for a year. I don't see Treadwell sticking around waiting out a year suspension. if that happens.

I may be wrong, but to this day nobody knows what the violation that caused Diggs suspension. So you cannot compare apples to bananas.

Even if Diggs violation was domestic violence letting him back a year ago and letting him back today are two very different things. The Ray Rice debacle has made sure of that.

Yup

True, the Ray Rice incident could force their hand. Still, if he never plays another game at Akron I doubt it's Dambrot's call. Right or wrong, he gives his guys multiple chances. Heck Abreu might have been reinstated had he not violated his probation.

Interesting article in ABJ today. Dambrot said he is relieved to have all the bad apples off the team. Treadwell left the school and is gone for good. Dambrot said he took all these kids on because he thought he needed to to compete with Kent. And now with his assistant passing away and with his father very ill he is relieved not to have to deal with all the problem players. An interesting admission.

I couldn't find the exact quote but I remember, after Anthony Simpson lit them up, Dambrot said something about how they needed to get bigger and more athletic and that he was going to start bringing in JC's and transfers. To me that was the moral turning point for that program. Simpson's senior year was 09-10. Abreu's first year was 10-11 then Harney, Diggs, and Treadwell first played in 11-12 but if memory serves those three were all on campus for the 10-11 season. Diggs sat out because of transfer and Harney and Treadwell needed a year to get eligible. So the four guys that have accounted for almost every off the court incident were brought in the season after Simpson put up 23 and 9, Kent won big, and Dambrot said, "That's probably the first time in my six years that we've gotten our ass beat that bad at home,". So long story short, Anthony Simpson is to blame!

In all seriousness, I have been looking for another Anthony Simpson. He was a nice guy, very good player, big and athletic.
