Congrats to L'ville you had our number in soccer this year. We'll see you in the NCAAs.

I hope we don't meet in the NCAAs. I want someone to take them out before then. 03-lmfao

Anyway, the #1 and #2 teams nationally in men's soccer lost to the #19 and #14 teams nationally in the ACC tourney.

Just goes to show that rankings nationally in men's soccer are hard to do, with most games between top teams being decided by 1 goal or in OT.

Cheers,
Neil

Men's Soccer NCAA Update

-6 of our 7 teams are still alive after the field of 48 has been reduced to 16
-Wake was knocked out in the opening round by UMBC. UMBC subsequently knocked out Maryland in the 2nd round, allowing UofL to host in the final 16.

We're down to the final 16. The next games will be played on Sunday 11/30:

-One quadrant has no ACC teams. Here are the other three quadrants where ACC teams are fighting for a spot in the College Cup.

#16 Virginia @ #1 Notre Dame
#9 Syracuse @ #8 Georgetown
-Obviously only one of three survives but we've got a very good chance at an ACC team winning this group.

Xavier @ #12 Creighton
UMBC @ #13 Louisville
-With the #4 & #5 seeds eliminated the Cards host again and could host in the final 8 if Creighton loses.

#15 California @ #2 UCLA
North Carolina @ #7 Clemson
-Another conference matchup. The winner will be a solid underdog if they play UCLA in the next round.

What little I know of college soccer...there seems to be no run away power this year. Hope your team is on a hot streak...and play the games. Good Luck to all the teams...hope at least two make the F4.
