Number of bowl eligible/ineligible teams
If I counted correctly there are 60 bowl eligible teams right now and 33 bowl ineligible teams.

Not counting Ga. Southern or App. St, that leaves 33 teams in the middle.

For either of us to slip in there we have to have at least 18 of those 33 in question to fall into the bowl ineligible list.

There is still hope.

I have a gut feeling Georgia Southern may have a legit shot, hope Benson can make it into his office in the Superdome to actually assist.

RE: Number of bowl eligible/ineligible teams
61 bowl eligible teams right now and 35 bowl ineligible. 32 teams are in the middle category.

15 more bowl slots available.

For Ga. Southern to have a chance 18 or more of the 32 bowl possibles need to be bowl ineligible.

For what it is worth projections now have 78-80 teams bowl eligible, meaning 2-4 bowl eligible teams will not go bowling.

It does not look like Ga. Southern will have a spot.

RE: Number of bowl eligible/ineligible teams
Just about every game that mattered last week didn't go our way. If it was a tinfoil hat type I would say the games are rigged to keep sub-500 teams from getting to bowls.

As I have said before, I would at least gain some satisfaction from the transition rule being killed after this year. It's such crap.

Maybe some years down the road when NDSU will be able to go to a bowl in their first year because of us.

If you can post a list of the 33, there's a bruja (witch) who lives in the house across the street from mine and I can ask her to put some bad juju on their asses.

Remember a couple weeks ago when I got slammed for suggesting someone should work in Vegas? That's why they play the games and don't simulate the season on paper. Still lots of rivalry games to go also.

San Diego State defeated Air Force last night and are now eligible so there goes another slot. I also imagine that the New Orleans bowl will feature either SDSU or Nevada as the Sunbelt's opponent.

Buffalo's game against Kent State will not be rescheduled, so they are eliminated from bowl contention.

The Northwestern-Illinois game will be an elimination game, the loser is out, the winner is in.

Western Kentucky, Houston, Florida and South Carolina are in with their wins today.

Michigan lost... But Florida, Arkansas, South Carolina, and WKU are now all bowl eligible.

Bowl eligible teams at 67 right now.

If EKU beats Florida, I move we offer them immediate Sun Belt Membership.
