Basketball has started
And it wasn't too bad of a starting weekend.

Big props to ULM, who beat UAB on the road, and to UTA who beat Bradley on the road as well.

Not too shabby in a loss award goes to - Georgia Southern, who gave Illinois fits but fell short.

Only (ick) game was a blowout of App at Ohio.

Really, I hadnt been following as of yet. Thats two pretty solid wins. Louisiana has Tulsa Monday night and Auburn, Thursday..(I believe) Its the opening of the MGM Grand tourney in Vegas Thanksgiving weekend. The next two weeks will tell us alot about where we stand.

Either they are much improved or UAB has serious problems. Great win. Here's hoping USA can get back to being good this year. We play at USM next.

I hope you guys were not counting on App making the conference proud this year on the basketball court, the new coach inherited a train wreck, thanks to our former coaching staff, I think the new coach will be good, but for the next couple of years atleast, we are going to get our asses handed to us.

I don't think South Alabama is going to be good this year either.

I don't know what to think. Newcomer John Brown is a baller. Barrington Stevens, III looks improved, and the team overall looks like they want to be there, seem to be having fun, and are much more energetic. The passing is better, turnovers are better, ball control is better, and desire is better. That's not things we saw last year.

With that said we have flaws. In particular we need to work on our defense inside the paint. I think we will be better than last year. But how much so remains to be seen.

LOL. If we aren't better, we will need a new coach.

Not a bad start for the Belt overall. We (Little Rock) beat a D2 team.

Your graduated senior big man is going to be hard to replace.

RE: Basketball has started
I'd be surprised if we win more than 3 games in the SBC this year. I have confidence that Fox can eventually turn things around but there is not a great deal of talent in Boone and he is installing a new system that will take time for the current crop to adjust to. So far, the results aren't pretty. We seem to turn it over at will and have no consistent perimeter game.
