So, last night we were in line to eat at Deanie's Seafood in the Quarter. I was talking to a young guy in line who saw my Tiger gear. He said "my best friend is the # 1 cornerback in JUCO and is considering playing for Memphis." I neglected to find out the name of the player. Any guesses?

The question on my mind is "How did you respond?!!"

I would've said, yeah, we lose our top DB this year, so he would fit right in to a great team!!! Would love to have him be a Tiger!!

Basically, I did just that. Described how Bobby Mc Cain had another pick 6 in the Tulane game and that he was a star who was graduating, leaving a big opening at corner. Told him how Coach Fuente had built a winner at Memphis. Told him that his friend could probably step right in to McCain's spot next year.

We'll see. Hope it happens.

He is talking about Justin Martin who I said we are going after pretty hard and gaining his attention more and more thanks to Ryan Walters, who is becoming a beast of a recruiter from his time learning under the Stoops brothers, particaly Mike at Arizone and then again at OU.....Not saying he comes here yet, but we are def in the running for a possible surprise come signing day....The World Is Ours Memphis...

Justin Martin is a TENNESSEE Lock.

Whoever it is we need some experience at CB for next year. Our top 3 CB's are all seniors.

Martin Likes UT-K and the are the Fav right now..I said he probably won't get him but that the staff is on him pretty hard and he does like us some, more than you think or say....Now does that get his signature here, no, but do we have a chance, yes, not great but yes outside chance....The World Is Ours Memphis....

Time would be better served spending that same time with other prospects. I'm not criticizing staff as they are doing an excellent job. They must want to make in-roads at the JC or at Martin's former HS.

TC, we need help at the CB quick with 3 Seniors departing! Who else are we looking at?

Henry Black, Sam Green are highly considering Memphis as is Kalon Beverly of New Orleans.....Help is on the way, trust me we got help coming.....The World Is Ours Memphis....

UT wants to sign EMCC CB Jeryl Brazil, a 4-star former LSU commit out of high school. Not sure they have room in their class for both he and Martin.

Justin Martin is still a long shot, IMO to land here.

We lose Etienne, Bobby, and Bakari. That'll be tough to replace, but DeShaugn Terry and Dion Witty should be able to step in and play

I've been impressed with Chris Morely as well, especially in the SMU game.
