RE: Bowl Outlook for Sun Belt
Basically here is the situation. Likely 3, maybe 4 teams sit at home this year. All of those will come from the G5. The Wonderful MAC will always take at least one of those slots, maybe two. Depending on who in CUSA is eligible, they may take one. We get the other.

That means, someone out of the Sun Belt who is eligible and isn't named Georgia Southern is going to miss a bowl this year. You do not want to finish 6-6 in the SBC this year, meaning USA, stAte, and Texas State all really need one more win at least. If Texas State finishes 6-6, I am guessing they get the honors because of travel issues. However if they win Thursday Night, there will be a lot of angst in Mobile and Jonesboro.

I guess its possible Maryland could beat Michigan, UTSA could beat WKU, BYU could beat Cal, and Purdue could beat Northwestern...but I don't like those odds.

Who will ULL play in NO? You guys are playing some good ball now and I hope you get a good opponent. Is WKU or any other CUSA team available to play in NO?

This is why I said that Texas State really really needed to beat S. Alabama. If they both end up with the same record, S. Al with a win over TxState, and a bowl open in Mobile or b'ham, guess who goes and guess who stays at home?

I think Texas State needs to be 7-5 to have a shot at a bowl this year.

Probably Air Force or Nevada. New Orleans isn't exactly top of the MWC's bowl list.

Probably Nevada, outside shot at Air Force. Those other guys are all playing too well and will likely get better bowl slots in my opinion.

Doubt it, I'd like another shot at Boise not on blue turf though.

New Orleans should be a top choice. Best food in the world. Louisiana Kitchen is the best.

Bobcat fans need to keep an eye on the Armed Forces Bowl in Ft Worth. That's a bowl that may end up needing a replacement team. Army is the primary tie (not going to get to 6 wins). The Big-12 and Big-10 are the backups, but neither may have extra teams this year. If that happens, Texas State might be a leading contender to fill that slot (likely against Houston).
