What exactly do you mean by "not very good"? I only ask because the guy has a good pedigree just looking at his HS career and the interest he got from other schools. Granted, he has not done much yet on game day at JMU, but the guy didn't just all of a sudden go from being highly touted and heavily recruited to "not very good." He was offered by Michigan, Virginian, Pitt, Tennessee, and a boat load of others. I would love to hear very specifically why you make that statement. I have not been to practices or talked to the coaches about him, so I don't know. Please enlighten

And Thourogood had a boat load of BCS offers too, and look what happened. That happens all the time around the country. Recruiting is a crapshoot.

Thourogood was a QB with a shoulder injury correct? Hill seems physically capable to play. A little different scenario.

Back in 2007 we signed a WR that had an offer from VT. He finished his career at Bowie. AND HOLY SH!T I JUST GOOGLED HIM, http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_268...tice-squad

Remember, WR's didn't stay with us if catching a lot of footballs was a priority.

Missing or Unknown status of players
Heard through the grapevine- tapley was injured but now he's basically off the team even though he's recovered.

Sometimes folks come in with a higher sense of importance than their performace warrents, and then, a lesser role becomes difficult to accept and manage.

I would like to see the coaching staff consider Hill for a move to the defensive side of the ball as a LB. He has the body for the position, as well as the instincts given that he has played RB. He might be a perfect fit on that side of the ball.

I dont think he has the mental to play defense. IMO

RE: Missing or Unknown status of players
Loading up on transfers is not the ideal way to build a team. But we have had some good and some bad. As the season has progressed, it seems to me that some of the hold over players have re-emerged. Cheatham and Brown became favorite targets.

Vad Lee has certainly progressed through the year. I really think he may have ended up improving his stock. He went from Triple-Option, athletic QB who likely would be a backup in a top 40's type BCS program to starting as a viable pocket passer in a top-20 FCS program. There is at least a precedent with Flacco, making a similar jump to the NFL realm. Certainly more the exception, than the rule - but he has done well.

I think he can still be a good power back but he just needs to improve his vision. He doesn't find holes well at all.

Quote:Withers said Gage Steele's status is still unknown for Liberty after he sustained a concussion Saturday. Should know more in next few days.

Withers also said John Miller (elbow) and Simeyon Robinson (foot) should be ready to go for Liberty.

It's funny, this team is so deep that I had forgotten those guys were out. But, having them back will be huge.

i think EW knew he needed some transfers this year because he knew some guys would leave with the coaching change.

I wouldn't expect us to take so many in the future. just a few to plug some holes are guys who are just too damn good to say no too.
