Hopefully it will be a first ever good experience for me up there.

Even a good experience is a bad experience up there. It's like going on a hayride. You keep waiting to see something interesting but it just never comes.

It'll be senior day for Davis and that will help, and Rawls gets a "get out of jail" card every Saturday during football season, so we just don't know which team will show up.

Those of you that keep talking about the Smelly Shorts curse, how can you forget it was broken in 2003 in a horrible year? I know this because it was my first and only time in that wind tunnel and Greg Jennings made a spectacular one handed catch late in the game.

RE: It's That Time of the Year Again: WMU vs, CMU
I decided to do a comparison of common opponents between CMU and WMU this season. Both teams own a 4-2 record in those games.

Best win: CMU Purdue 38-17 WMU Ohio 42-21
Worst Loss: CMU Ball State 29-32 WMU Toledo 19-20 (OT)
Total Points Scored (for-against): CMU 195-135 WMU 229-139
PPG (for-against): CMU 32.5-22.5 WMU 38.17- 23.17

Westerns loss to Toledo hurts the Broncos average because it was the only game they failed to score 34 or more points. Central has failed to score more than 38 points in any of the six common opponent games. Both teams only allowed EMUgly to score 7 points.WMU gave up a worst 43 points to Purdue and CMU'S worst defensive effort was 42 points surrendered to Toledo.

Before any of you say WMU's best win this season was BGSU, please remember I am omly talking about common opponents already played, which is why I didn't include NIU for CMU because we haven't played them yet.

I do not agree that this is the best team we have EVER taken into mt pee. Its a team that is getting better each week. But not the best team ever.

Which team? Which year do you think was better than this team this year?

Our seniors have a chance to finish their careers with a winning record against CMU with a victory. Fourth-year seniors could finish 3-1; fifth-year seniors could finish 3-2.

I believe results on the field matter. No doubt this team is becoming a great team. Still have at least 3 more gamesto pprove themselves.

I don't think this team is better than any of those teams. The league stinks this year.

RE: It's That Time of the Year Again: WMU vs, CMU
To those concerned we struggle at Mt Pleasant:
Last time we went up there, CMU beat Iowa and won their bowl game. We destroyed them. We also played incredibly close last season despite being 1-11.

Also heard this on the radio after the game today: Celiscar I believe went up to Fleck in his office and told him that we really need to build up the Eastern game as we've lost to them 3 years in a row. Fleck said he told him the reason they've lost to Eastern 3 years in a row is because they keep looking to the past and not the now.

I'm really nervous about a 'letdown' for this game. The 2 teams are pretty much equal. I'm concerned the Chip's experience will prevail. I think though that if we win, we win big. If Central wins, it'll be close. Can we stop Rawls and Davis? Can they stop Franklin and Davis?

It's Western/Central week!

RE: It's That Time of the Year Again: WMU vs, CMU
WMU got an early start to the festivities known as Western/Central week courtesy of the volleyball team.

Quote:The Broncos had beaten Central Michigan in the first two sets, but the Chippewas rallied to tie the Mid-American Conference match by taking the next two sets. Western scored the first three points of the fifth set, got the momentum back and rolled to a 25-22, 25-12, 21-25, 21-25, 15-9 win.The victory gave Western an 18-13 overall mark and a 9-7 MAC record which puts them as the fifth seed in the postseason tournament, which starts on Friday. The Broncos will take on eighth seed Buffalo at 5:30 p.m.

Saw every team there but the 88 team and I have to say that right now and when those teams took the field at CMU, this team today would be favored. But these kind of comparisons never really work, but sure make sports conversations fun.

Sounds about right, even though I don't think it will be a close game.

We've been favored by 1-1.5 all week, at least that I'm aware of.

Is it safe to say that all of our young Bronco's are now seasoned vets?????
If so they are primed for a big day at Mt/ Idey....
You guys are forgetting the high level were playing at. This Western team bares no resemblance to the 2013 disaster... And are playing the best ball, by far, of any team in the MAC.
Sit back boys, pop a cold one, and enjoy the beat down
