Broncos will win this one pulling away late. Book it.

And one could have said that in 2000 with even more umph. :)

I'm not saying the past=future, otherwise I'd say it'd be a 20% chance we'd win or something. I'm putting it at 45/55 chance because in rivalry games like this, the emotion and important Does carry over -- and they will be ready to rock against us.

Quote:Which team have you been watching? But hey, it's all good. Maybe the team needs some skeptical fans, some non-believers. Keep predicting disaster or rust or whatever other distractions that you do each game. It's working or something......

Hey, I am going to bet on the game (technically, depends on the spread). To make it a win-win for me. If WMU is favored by 10pts or something -- I'm betting on CMU.

I'm not saying we can't or "Yep, we're going to lose." Oh, not at all. I'm saying odds are in favor of us losing, because odds are that this is going to be the CMU team that crushed Purdue & NIU... and it being in Mt Pleasant in our rival's backyard.

I won't be shocked if we win; but a bit surprised. CMU has a lot of potential to be "blah" -- don't get me wrong. But they also have the potential to play very well. In a rivalry game in their house, the latter will show up, is all I'm saying. If so, which IMO is of a Good probability, I'd put us as a 9pt underdog. Which means we'll need special teams & potential turnovers to blow in our direction, along with key plays flowing thru with our A game, to win.

IMO, this is going to be our 2nd toughest game of the year (@VaTech first) to pull out a victory.

Geeze dude - you use a million words to say you have no clue but have a bad feeling about this one. Weasel words to cover all possible bases. They could play well, but maybe not, as it is a rivalry game, you imply. For a guy who is an admitted PJ fan, you are trying to row with one foot out of the boat. Just when do you go all in? After you are wrong yet again?

Have a little faith. No need to worry about the spread being above 10 points. IF we are favored at all it will be 3 points or less. I suspect a pick-em or CMU by 2.

I hope I'm wrong. I would say what you say if it was at home. Most likely, this isn't going to be the CMU team that lost to Ball State and eeked it out over Miami. It's going to be the one who crushed @Purdue and crushed @NIU. Assuming Rawls is 100% of course.

I'm going to bet a nice chunk of change on the game if WMU is favored by 7+ points.

Vegas loves us. I bet we're favored by 7 pts. in this game.

If I was playing on the team or part of the team, I would have both feet in the boat mentally & emotionally. However, I'm not, so I'm just trying to be objective, is all. :)

at the time of the 2000 upset. WMU had the record then of being the team with the largest spread favored to win...to EVER LOSE. It was that bad of an upset, historic....there was no way WMU after pounding Marshall in Marshall was going to lose that game. They did....they then lost in the re-match at Marshall...and the Darnell era went straight downhill. Those who don't learn from history can be condemned to repeat it. Be leery...I am sure P.J. has his best HOW SPEECH yet ready to go...but this one makes me very nervous. Especially with CMU barely winning today..."set the trap"

As for the Gerski...you have to go to college somewhere.

Bull. It wasn't until this week against a hapless opponent that they gave us the nod in a big way. Doesn't bother me at all, as I'm not a gambler. Vegas doesn't "love" anybody but sets the spread so as to attract money on both sides. But you knew that.

Yes, but as hard as he tries to mask his bias it still shows through. Plus, Andy Pepper has some great wise cracks.

Biggest difference is that we don't have Darnell on the sidelines. Unless PJ is interviewing for a new job as we speak........

He has managed to keep them motivated for each game. I see no reason to doubt he will have them prepped and ready to play.

Those who dwell on negatives from the past are bound to repeat them. This is a new era. Positivity.

I have fifty bucks left in my Sportsbook Account, if we're giving 7 I'm putting it all on CMU. If we win, I won't miss it, if we lose I don't feel quite as bad.........and it will clean out my account so I can stop this terrible addiction 03-drunk

Heard on the news that the next big thing in state legalized gambling will be sports betting at casinos 04-rock

I do not agree that this is the best team we have EVER taken into mt pee. Its a team that is getting better each week. But not the best team ever.

Oh, we will. I'm just saying it won't be like playing any other team based on analysis/stats of how they handled themselves against Syracuse, Kansas, and BSU...

My assumption is that they'll have Rawls & Davis rearing to go unlike Syracuse & Kansas. And as I said before, one should expect their focus & A-game -- the team that stomped Purdue & NIU on the road even, not the one who had their hands full to beat Miami & lose to BSU at home. A Big rivalry team doesn't need PJ motivation to get pumped for it in their own house.

I'm not saying we WILL lose or anything -- I'd put this on the same scale as us going into NIU on one of NIU's better years. CMU has the capabilities to be Good -- and have shown that. I think THAT is the hat they're going to have on, and we should expect to have our hands very full that game, down to the bitter end, and not being Expected by default to be the victors.

RE: It's That Time of the Year Again: WMU vs, CMU
This should be a very good game. Both teams are solid this year. You guys can nit pick our wins/losses all you want, but all it really tells you is we are inconsistent. Just a side note, we did not have Rawls or Davis (by far our top 2 players) for Kansas and Syracuse. And Rawls is not injured right now, Enos sat him out because he wasn't at 100%. We may have choked against BSU, but we also hammered the top MAC team (standings wise) along with the biggest margin of victory over Purdue this year, whom you guys lost to. Btw, make fun of FCS all you want but UTC is one of the top FCS teams and some of those teams are no joke.

Are we a great team? No. But I think we are the best team in the MAC when playing to our potential. Bad thing is we are inconsistent. Wouldn't surprise me to see a blowout either way to be honest.

Todd, what a mealy mouthed load of B.S.

Of course it's a rivalry game and you can choose your cliches. Throw the records out, yada, yada, yada........

See, Todd the difference between you and me is that I actually believe in this team. You use all the qualifiers you can think of to tell us what you think without committing. I expect us to win that game. You......well, despite all the words used, have not taken a position.

OF course it will be a tough game. Make a stand, tell us who you believe will win. Quit prevaricating.

I think we win by 10+. IMO we're playing better football than anyone in the MAC, but NIU still worries me because they're just finding ways to win as usual.

George14 has us as an 18 point dog on Slappy Illy. Must be that impressive showing against Miami has him fired up.

It'll be senior day for Davis and that will help, and Rawls gets a "get out of jail" card every Saturday during football season, so we just don't know which team will show up.
