Montell Garner was the guy with his hands up, as if to say he (Earl) didn't do it. But Earl (#7 covering over the middle), was all over the receiver. What made it even more confusing was that the ref threw the flag at Garner.

The refs were really bad last night, so it doesn't surprise me they would call it on the wrong guy.

They called it on the right guy, but threw the flag at the guy with his hands up. LOL

Yep, the crowd was weak. That's what happens when:
1. Alabama's televised game isn't done. (playing the #1 team in the country)
2. Auburn's televised game is just starting. (playing their oldest longest consecutive rival in history, plus
probable SEC east champion.)
3. Coldest night of the year, so far.
4. A week after the worst beating in USA football history.
5. A mid-to-low tier SBC comes to town.
Sad but true, and now you know.

Oh, don't get me wrong, Tig. I'm 100% in agreement, but like it or not, that's Mobile thinking and why the crowd (or lack thereof) was so blasted embarrassing. We can only hope that we will have a somewhat decent attendance when Navy visits the old stadium.

I was definitely not making an attempt to "defending that crowd".

Really?! After our last two performances, I think he hit it dead on . . .. Until we're able to prove otherwise on the field. 03-banghead

I'm just saying that's the way Mobile perceives it, responding to the OP. You have to understand that southern Alabama has Alabama/Auburn blinders on. Hell's bells, I am somewhat familiar with Texas St. My niece went there and was a cheerleader there (SWTS).

I think attendance wasn't helped by USA being outscored 65-9 in their first 2 home games. Lots of people showed up and said, Meh.

I'm definitely HOPING. Unfortunately, I'd be shocked if more than 10k folks will fight the Black Friday traffic and blahs (lack of sleep, etc.) to get their butts to Ladd. The only thing I know for sure is I'll be there too 04-cheers
