Nope, we share a conference...you'll have to deal with us til the end of time, lol

I remember when people made fun of Memphis fans bring up basketball in a football thread. How the times have changed.

RE: Memphis @ Tulane Game Thread
I dont get why this is a big deal. Another year where the team takes the first chunk of the season to figure out what the hell they are doing, and end up dropping games.

Memphis is a good team, with a program on the rise. They won, we lost. And?

I also dont get why they are taking it so personally that we want them to drop a game... We want the sole championship, and we need help now. I dont... I dont get the flame war.

Unless of course, this game just meant a little bit more to each side than the other conference games weve each played... But that would imply the impossible, wouldnt it? :)

RE: Memphis @ Tulane Game Thread
MEMPHIS just came out on October 4 highly motivated while UC was still a bit of a mystery, particularly on defense. The wheels came off; it happens to everyone at some point. Fuente is a solid coach and the current staff is pretty damn capable. They game plan very well. I had Ole Miss fans tell me they were shocked MEMPHIS stayed in that game down in Oxford until the final 7 minutes or so.

But, in truth, I think that big loss in the conference opener actually woke the Bearcats up. Your team rebounded nicely and have earned bowl bid eligibility after whipping ECU.

No argument, that exhibition BB game loss to CBU has a bunch of TIGER fans scratching their heads. But who can say how things ultimately turn out? MEMPHIS plays Wichita State in balmy Sioux City, SD on Tuesday. We'll see how things go against the 11th ranked Shockers.

Good luck in your bowl game (I think the Bearcats are Miami Beach Bowl bound).

Thank you. But, I kind of figure Memphis will get that spot.

Well, when you're back in the low rent district, sometimes you need to "see a doctor and get rid of it."

YAWN!

Yup, we "share" a conference with you. Must make your day, huh? Misery loves company, and all that.

I ***could*** live with this conference but for the Houston, ECU, and Memphis fans. I thought it was bad with the Rutards, sPittsburgh, and 'Eer fans in the old BE, but the members of Coog-High, Eastern Carolina, and Memphis Community and Technical College fanbases have managed to out-do even those three schools for boorish, self-congratulatory, and delusional thinking.

So yeah, you have moved your proverbial "double-wide" of a program into our neighborhood and we're stuck...ah...how do you say it... "dealing with you until the end of time." Whoop-de-do.

Gee... And somehow you forgot to point out that the series record is 19-13.

Congrats on winning this year. Nobody but you will remember the score.

In fairness to the Memphis fans, they don't know how to act any better. They have rarely ever had any success in football and certainly not on this high of a stage. They have one ten win season (1938) and have only won nine games on four other occasions in over 102 years of play. They have only been to six bowl games in those 102 years of plays.

As a mod, I am pretty laid back. Exceptions are this UofMemphis character (who clearly wore out the welcome) and just about any Texas Tech poster.
