Why I'm excited for this basketball team...
Because in 2015-16 we're going to be very, very good.

I know people dont usually want to hear about "rebuilding" but we have 7 first year players and 8 new players as a whole. And our seniors are useless. Which means all of the team's best players will be back! I think Troy and Ellis are captains next year and Troy continues to improve and take over a leadership role. Ellis will keep getting stronger.

Hopefully we win at least 2 of this OOC stretch - VCU, Nebraska, SD ST, Nc St and hopefully we at least split Uconn and Memphis games.

I think it'll be rough in the beginning but I expect to make the tournament and next year I expect to be 27 win good once again. So I'm excited to watch this team develop and grow together.

Agree? Disagree? Dont care?

I think we are still a deadly shooter away from being able to make a big time run even next year.

RE: Why I'm excited for this basketball team...
I share the sentiment, that their development into next year is potentially a major turning point. The question is how high is the ceiling? We have to pf's who are contributing as freshman, which is highly unusual. We have a center, who while rangy, looks to me anyway; to be very athletically gifted for his size and may still have room to pack on muscle. We should have a quality two deep in most spots, but the part that concerns me is the 3. We don't really have another SF except Thomas. So how will our wing play look? Cobb hasn't exactly wowed me thus far, if we intend to go 3 guard, who will we have out there? I think Morman needs to just keep getting a feel for the game, but there's no guarantee that his moment will be next year.

I was wondering if there are any potential NBA players on our roster.

Kentucky and UCONN didn't have deadly 3 point shooters last year. In fact I believe that Kentucky was a worse shooting team than us.

Game has changed; deadly shooters don't really exist anymore. Having guys who can finish inside will make our shooters better.

Geez, you guys get caught up in semantics way too much. I'm not saying we need a 50% 3pt shooter. We need a guy that can't be left open. I'm not sure Caupain is that kind of shooter and he is primarily a PG which makes it a little more difficult to get open shots.

I don't know what you're talking about with UK and UConn. They both had their share of above average shooters.
UK - James Young, maybe even the Harrison twins
UConn - Napier, Boatright and Giffey

Count me in. Mix the offensive talent with Mick's defensive coaching and we will be a tough out as they grow.

I'm gonna have to wait and see Ellis, Clark and Berry do it against SDSU, VCU and a few other really good teams before I can say we have great inside scoring. I sure hope they can get it done.

I wonder if Strickland will even see the court this year. Hope he gets a chance in the next couple games.

Me too, just can't see the young man staying around for another year and not playing at all, bigs are hard to come by.

Didn't realize Cobb was third in the entire country in 3 point shooting last year. That sounds like the shooter we've been looking for.

Seriously, Cobb is a quality starter coming off the bench. That's HUGE, especially for a team that has struggled to shoot.

How about the original gunslinger, LaZelle Durden?
