All of the Carolina schools are pretty much on the same level. There's no reason to believe you couldn't be successful at State. They're not working at some huge disadvantage.

UVA has put together top 10 recruiting classes so has UNC and VT is by far the best. South Carolina is top 25 every single year with top 5 classes and Duke gets anybody who can get in. I have to disagree NC ST doesn't recruit well that's why doeren is so active out here trying to steal niu kids of which he got 2 last year.

He has a huge disadvantage to where he is at and who he goes against. I dont know if you have ever been to any of those schools but they are all beautiful. NC St is looked down on thats why guys like Russell Wilson leave their 5th year lol.

Good luck to him and his agent. If he does well at NC ST his next job will be $$$$.

Look at South Carolina's football history before Spurrier got there. Look at Duke's football program before Cutcliffe got there. Russell Wilson didn't "leave" for his 5th year, his idiot coach didn't want him back because he had Mike Glennon. Since when are VT and UVA in the Carolina's?

UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake Forest are all playing the same deck of cards. Good coaches will win there. Hell, it's probably easier to win at State than Duke and Wake. This is coming from somebody who has spent a year and half now living in the Triangle.

Wake Forest is brutal but at the end of the day Cutcliffe has been at Duke for a long time. Spurrier has been at south Carolina for a long time. I spend a lot of time in the triangle too now.

Yeah you might want to do some research on the history of Duke football before you talk about how prestigious their football program is and how great their facilities are. They were worse than terrible for a very long time. Only recently have they become consistently good (last 3-4 years).

NC State historically has had a much better football program because no one in their right mind wanted to go to UNC or Duke for football since they were so clearly basketball schools.

Finally, can we please put this thread to bed. I think we've beat the crap out of it enough. The fact is...YOU DON'T TURN DOWN NC STATE when they offer you a ton of money. So again, NO, DD should not have stayed at NIU. In coaching you strike when the iron is hot, you don't risk passing on opportunities that may never come again.

All the wisconsin talk is garbage. It was well talked about that even if he was available they were going to pass. He was Birlemas guy and not Alvarez. He also rubbed some boosters at UW the wrong way and wasn't well liked.

Also, goon squad is again incorrect about NC State being out recruited by Wake, UVA, and Duke. Traditionally and there is certainly fact here, NC State is better at recruiting but they are under performers. They had Rusell Wilson, Mario Williams and many other great players. They had 7 draft picks in 2012. Wake has a total of like 10 current NFL players. Duke was horrible forever they now have a really good coach. UVA hasn't made a bowl since 2011.

NC state is a .509 lifetime program. It's a decent program with a good talent state, but it's over saturated with colleges and I don't know if they put the resources in. I do know there was talk he has an autistic child and Raleigh has good hospitals and other things. I was surprised because I thought he could get a better job, but it's aslo a risk.

sounds like DD has a history of rubbing boosters the wrong way. I had my own interaction with him in Mobile, which told me what kind of person he really is.
