RE: UConn Preview
Does Hughes help at all with his familiarity with UCONN's defensive personnel?

RE: UConn Preview
Speaking of Hughes....I know we gave up a lot of points/yards but I was happy overall with the defense. They were put in tough spots against a GREAT offense and made some big plays. And I loved the blitz packages we ran at Cardin in the last quarter.

We continue to play well on 1st and 2nd and then get torched on 3rd down.

Another irony about the UC/UConn series...
---Current UC DC Hank Hughes was UConn's DC last year while Current UConn HC Bob Diaco was UC's DC back in 2009-2010. And UConn's interim HC last year was UC's DC in 2012. So, the coaching staffs know their opposite environments well.

RE: UConn Preview
They seem to suck at a glance. Any offense can get healthy against our D tho.

So true. That's a formula for success against a fair to poor team (especially) and I believe that's what UCONN is this season. Three quick strike scores and it would force the Huskies to panic and get away from their offensive game plan in the first half. That's a good recipe for forcing turnovers and building an even bigger lead. I have no concern that Gunner and company can score on UCONN; I have only a moderate level of concern that UC can stop them. On paper, this should be the least challenging game of the final three.

I was trying to remember what Weist coached with us. Thanks for the correction.

We have a history of not playing so well at UConn. I fear cold, windy, sloppy field conditions that knock us off our rhythm. [/align]

If the weather is bad, we've got a running game.

How is UConn against the run?
