It looks like Coach Ezell has landed a blue-chip recruit in freshman (and Science Hill alum') Tianna Tarter. Tarter started in the Lady Bucs 81 - 68 win at UNCA 25 pts. In 38 minutes, Tarter produced 21 pts. (7-10, 3-4), 6 rebounds, 5 assists (5 TO's), 1 block, and 1 steal. Through 3 games (1st two were exhibition), Tarter is averaging 15 pts, 7 boards, 3.5 assists, and 2 steals. Not too shabby.

I've loved what I've seen of the Women's team so far, especially Tarter. They seem pretty disciplined, aggressive and hungry. I hope they continue and I also hope they get plenty of support from the community this season.

Wow that is impressive. A local player who is a major contributor. I wish her and the team and Coach Ezell the best of luck this season. Having four years with Tianna is going to be wonderful.

In her second d1 game, Tarter's produced 15 pts, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. Unbelievable.

I watched last night's game online.. great job Lady Bucs!!!!!!

At 5'6" Tianna is leading the team in rebounds (!), tied for the lead in scoring (with sophomore Shamauria Bridges) and tied for the lead in assists (with Chandler Christopher). Quite a start. When last year's leading scorer and best 3 point shooter, Cara Bowling, returns, they'll have even more firepower.

This is especially interesting because the women were picked 5th out of 8 in the SoCon Preseason Media Poll. And even worse, 6th out of 8 in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll.
