Game Day: St. Francis (IL) and KSU-Tuscarawas
Big news for the men is that Timmy Bond is out 4 - 6 weeks with a broken finger. Timmy has a Twitter account and mentions it.
Alvano, on his Twitter, was all pumped for this game (couldn't sleep), maybe because he is going to get a lot of minutes today. Maybe start? I read in Blue Ribbon Yearbook an inkling that Murphy might even try Talley off the bench (not sure the rationale).
Bond's injury messes up the rotation. If Lee has defensive lapses and Price's shot isn't falling, Bond could have gotten PT at SG - leaving Talley and Alvano running the point.
Me thinks this will be a crazy season with so many players capable of playing MAC ball (NOT something which can be said about most MAC teams, where the end of the bench is lacking in talent - and I can remember some EMU benches which were bad).
I'm reminded of the saying: It isn't who starts the game but who finishes it, when the game is on the line.

Alvano's Dad died yesterday. No idea how close they were, but that's not something you want on your mind heading into your first game.

Wow. I saw the R.I.P for his dad, but completely missed the recentness of it.
So we have a frosh PG under going surgery today and another whose father just died.

Tough break (no pun intended) for Bond. Thankfully he'll be back well before MAC play starts. Hopefully it's closer to 4 weeks than 6.

Tough break in another sense for Bonds, namely, both Bond and Alvano were competing hard for PT with MT III, so Alvano gets uncontested PT while Bonds heals.

Has the women's game started? No update on the stats.

EMU Athletics' Twitter account announced the start time was push backed to 11:30. So tipoff should be any moment now.

I hope the KSU-T women didn't attempt to drive to Ypsilanti today. I believe there was a lot of snow in NE Ohio.

Looking at the stats, Dailey (frosh), Bucknor, and Sweeney are having big days.
Sweeney is a soph and Dailey is a frosh. :)

Apparently KSU-Tuscarawas only brought 5 players. It's ugly. 62-18 with 2:00 left in the first half.

I'm wondering if Sasha Dailey is saying: "I played tougher teams in high school."
I believe EMU has played extensively their entire bench, except Puni, who isn't eligible until after 1st semester.

I hope EMU didn't guarantee the school children free pizza if EMU scored more then 125 points. Lol.
Sasha Dailey had one of those stat lines like we may never see again at EMU:
31 points on 15 of 20 shooting (75%), 9 rebounds, 9 steals, 6 assists all within 27 minutes...
BTW: Dailey is one of FOUR players from Toledo Rogers. Doesn't Toledo have a women's team? Just asking... ;-)

Alvano started at PG today. Interesting, but I wasn't surprised.

Subs: Talley for Alvano. Price for Ward. Nazione for Okoloji (no surprise, here).

Ajayi is incredibly athletic and incredibly uncoordinated. i think Samuels will get the majority of the minutes at center.

Lot of interesting subbing.
Ward playing both F. Price looks like a SG/SF. Alvano combo guard.
Threes are NOT falling!!!

threes arent falling at all. we're running a lot, and everyone except Hunter and Samuels can run on this team, and that's where we'll need to get points.
