I'll bite. Brings back a lot more? Speedy has a legit shot at the next level, Kyser might, Appleby might.
Hamilton will be drafted, just not sure what round.
A lot more players, maybe I'll give you that. Quality players? No way in hell!!!!
Just shattered the ice
You can't be serious when you say Kyser might play at the next level unless the next level you speak of is in Europe. Bohannon barely made a d-league roster and he is twice the player. I'm not sure there is a player in CUSA that will be drafted by the NBA this year. UTEP and La Tech have about equal talent with UTEP having better forwards and Tech the better guards. The center spot is a wash and the question will be which team gets the most out of their new players.
I hope our 7 foot freshman plays. He moves really well for a tall guy but damn is he skinny.

Europe is still pro ball btw. Speedy Smith and Appleby have a shot at the NBA. I am pretty sure we played you guys last year without Appleby. When he is on, he can take over a game. Hamilton might be the best player in CUSA this year. The guy is always on his game.
If a few of our new comers step up, then Tech should be damn good this year. Also, we only played you on the road last year.
I am not sure why you are surprised Tech is on top, maybe I am missing something????

Utep won't get any love because it is no secret that the media hates their coach.

I don't consider overseas as the next level. It is more of another level right below the NBA D league. Just my opinion however. I never said I was surprised about the ranking. Read what I said in bold.

RE: Joe Lunardi's 1st Bracketology of the season
Predicting which teams make the NCAA tourney and who they will play before any games are played is just ridiculous.
I wonder if you check this against the actual pairings in March how many would be accurate, I say not a single one.

RE: Joe Lunardi's 1st Bracketology of the season
Interested to see CUSA this year and how it turns out with basketball. We should be one of the top bball conferences, replaced top flight memphis but dropped a lot of dead weight and added some really good schools. I think it raises the bar in bball. Just hope we can go .500 this season. Everyone else can fight it out for the tourney.

Because you lost to a D2 team. Sorry had to do it. AAC should get 4 but someone always disappoints and I don't see anyone outside of those 4 surprising anyone.

RE: Joe Lunardi's 1st Bracketology of the season
One thing I love when ESPN hypes Mr. Brackets. "He got 66 of his 68 picks right last year." Come on. I could have only a vague understanding of college basketball and not have watched a single minute of a game all year and get 62 right. When you see 66-68, that's really 4 out of 6 and not really all that great.

RE: Joe Lunardi's 1st Bracketology of the season
He's normally pretty good at predicting who's on the bubble and who gets in. Normally the ones he misses were first four out.
I'm not saying I always like his predictions, but I don't think Lunardi is against C-USA or anything. We just have to win OOC games and prove we're a good League. Losing to crap teams and teams from other conferences doesn't help our perception. When we have schools like FAU losing to bad teams, then our top team struggles against them or even loses, good luck getting more than one.
C-USA isn't Memphis and everyone else anymore. But we haven't had a school get into the tournament and advance yet. Until that happens, we won't move up in people's perceptions. Is it fair? Probably not. If a power 5 conference school played La Tech or USM's schedule and had the same record as we did, they would have made NCAAs last year. Don't leave anything to chance. Don't give the committee a choice on who to let in. Make it an obvious choice.

Temple looked pretty good to me. I would like our chances at home (and make more free throws this time).
