Glad to see Mick is in a light hearted mood. I remember before the 2010-11 season, where he took his first team here to the NCAA's, he had a lot of days with his head in his hands and looking like he'd rather be anywhere else. He's gone through a lot here, yet he is pulling in better recruits and winning consistently. Fortunate to have somebody like that, that produces results and likes it here.

As an aside, I see Quadri is still working on his shot. If he does that everyday, it will be interesting seeing how good he'll be before he leaves.

"The beauty of college basketball is that we're not like college football."

Freaking love that quote from Mick. The exact reason I wait all year for college basketball and don't get too bent out of shape about football.

I was just thinking that was the reason I care about every football game but don't get too bent out of shape about basketball for the first month or two.

Football is becoming less fun for me, every win seems like its a tiny, small, minuscule, sliver of a step towards the ACC, and every loss is made to feel like it sets the program back 25 years. Thats far more stressful than sports should be.

Basketball has always been kinda... meh to me. Ive gotten into it lately due to the importance of supporting the Bearcats, but I still find it immensely difficult to pay attention for a full game.

I love both. basketball has always been my favorite sport, but nothing better than attending a college football game (especially when you take tailgate into account)

There are no rules that say you can't tailgate for BB games!

I'm more referring to the fact that basketball has a real champion, whereas football is completely subjective.

Also, basketball allows teams to grow throughout the season and not get punished for some early growing pains. UC football's season was basically over after the loss to Memphis. When you step back and look at how college football works it is just stupid.

thought that was good too. i guess you don't have to preface the question but only one player even remotely knows of the west side grit.

that didn't sound particularly well for deshaun, but mick's a funny guy. it's amazing how he's a successful basketball coach. that's that west side grit. from driving the high school team to late night mcdonald's after practice to division head coach. height ain't nuthin' but a number
