The NIU game
A lot to take from it.

I think Dwight Macon is the strongest armed QB on our roster. Although Ely had a rifle too.

I think the offensive coordinator and Campbell are really disappointing.
I don't care if we were using the 4th QB on the depth chart. They don't seem to have any game plan, at least not one to focus on this team's strengths which is the running game.
And the short passes when we need 8 to 10 yards are just driving me nuts.

And speaking of disappointment. Alonzo Russell is the best receiver in the MAC at getting open. And the worst at catching. UNLESS he is making spectacular one handed circus catches.
Its the easy stuff he drops.

Not about to blame injuries on this loss. In hindsight, I actually think Macon gave us the best chance to win. But the coaches didn't realize it soon enough that he just might be capable of running the entire offense. Passes, runs, play action, hand offs. I think he can do it all effectively.

RE: The NIU game
Candle has no clue. Macon looked like the second coming if chuck Ealey. How long has he been overlooked? How could candle actually have thought Julian was a better choice to start? Had Macon played all year, we might just be undefeated. Having a true two dimensional qb threat really puts stress on a defense. Did you see how effortless it was for Dwight to move the team at will. Couple his strong arm and our running backs we will not lose again this year. We will dominate Bg. Just a shame it took three qbs going down before Dwight got a shot. Imagine how good he would be had he been given a shot earlier in his career.

Well. I'm not going to agree or disagree.
I'm just going to say I like your enthusiasm.

I will say however, I also don't care for Candle.

We also have a DC that doesn't have a clue.

I think I would hold off on the over-the-top praise of Macon. Yes, he looked very good. We haven't seen a team gameplan for him yet. So, if Woodside is OK, who starts against BG?

Anyone notice the OU-NIU game is Tuesday. If OU upsets NIU on Tuesday, UT could potentially be looking at taking back the WEST on WEDS night.

And NIU has to go to Kzoo and sink the rowboat the week after.
